When Roses Grow Black Chapter 11 "Hey, hey Rose," A gentle voice called, urging me back to reality. My sweet dreams disintegrated as I was pulled from my sleep. My eyelids felt like they were two ton weights and no matter how I tried they would not open. "Dude, is she up yet??" I heard AJ's raspy voice ask impatiently. I almost answered for the person who was trying to wake me, but decided against it. I didn't understand why AJ's impatience made me so mad. I suppose it was because my father was always impatient, and it bugged me the way he was. "Give her time, alright. The Doc said the pills were really strong," my waker proved to be Brian. "Rose," he tried once more as I finally pried my eyes open. "Hey, welcome back to the world," I was greeted by his gorgeous smile. "Hey," I croaked out and grimaced at the horrible condition my voice seemed to be in. "What's going on??" I gave him my most innocent look and hoped he'd fall for it. "Maybe I should be asking you the same thing by the innocent look you're giving me," he smirked, probably proud of himself. Damn it! Stupid teenieboppers had worn it out on him. If he caught it who knows what Kevin might catch on to. "Shit, this isn't gonna work," I mumbled to myself. "What isn't gonna work??" I jumped as I realized Howie was right next to me. Had I really said it that loud?? No I didn't I couldn't have, could I?? "What?" I asked still in my stupor that I was actually heard. Suddenly, the fact that my idols were sitting right in front of me hit me head on. Before it never really got into my brain because of the migraine, but now here I was, lying to the only people in this world that I cared most about now. "What isn't gonna work??" Brian repeated instead of Howie. Before I was given the time to answer Kevin walked through the door, "Rose, we need to talk."Next: Chapter 12 |
