Lesson 3

Today we focused on the number 4. We used our Dalmatian Number Display. A new puppy came. The new puppy had 4 spots, now the mommy puppy has 4 puppies. We counted spots and puppies. We looked at the printed number 4. Topper Toast Puppet helped us sing a song called, “Can You Count?” (to the tune of “Did You Ever See a Lassie?” We read a book, it was “101 Dalmatians”. We counted the toast and the butters and matched up toast with butter. We made dream catchers. We learned that some Native Americans make dream catchers. According to Native American tradition, bad dreams will get caught in the web of the dream and good dreams will float through the holes and down the feathers. We talked about scary dreams and good dreams. We hung four feathers on our dream catchers. We played a game with four pieces of paper toast and four pieces of paper butter. We said the counting rhyme called Down Goes the Toast and did the actions (where we pretend to be toast in a toaster, count to four then go pop). We did Calendar Time and Weather Bear.
