detour 1: magic...and pokemon

When we were entering the round court yard of Palette Town, one of my friends said, 'We're in Palette Town!' to which I added, 'Where Ash Ketchum lives!' *dies from corniness* My friend (not the yaoi one, her classmate) was a guy from New Zealand...and didn't know what I was talking about. ?.? lol It took 5 min to enlighten him on the beginnings of Pokemon. He knew Pokemon, but didn't know where he was from. ^^;

>There was a street performer in action when we entered and we ended up staying for the entire show. There was a little bit of balloon figures, magic and juggling. The guy was brillant! Of course, I'm easily amused, but it was so cool! He even did an act with the Taiwanese two-sticks-tied-with-a-string and an hourglass-looking-yoyo thing...I don't remember what it was called. ^^; But it was cool and he even threw it really high in the air and caught it still spinning. O.O He messed up a few times but he always had a way to recover the act...which makes me wonder if he messed up on purpose. He is a pro afterall. ^-^ *applauds*

detour 2: car show...with no babes

Another attraction of Palette Town is the Toyota car show. Since we needed to get to the 2nd floor of the show in order to get to the Ferris Wheel, we ended up looking around. The guy went on the Motor Sports simulator while me and my friend headed to the safety simulator. There wasn't much a wait time in comparison. Each of the simulators had rules: you can't be pregnant, can't be drinking, can't play if your feet don't reach the pedals, etc.... lol I wonder of the 'no drinking' part is concerning 'don't drink and drive' concept. It's only a sim though.... ^^; The simulation demostrates the warning system and speed reduction system thingee for the Toyota. I think.... ^^; In any case, I tried to stay on the left lane (since we're in Japan) and I still hit trees and cars. Yay for me! ^^V Maybe I shouldn't drive afterall.... lol

There is a ride where you can go in a beetle-like car and ride all over Palette Town. You don't really get to control the car and it stays on a track so we didn't ride it. Afterall, it cost money. On the second floor, there was another gather-stamps-and-try-to-win event, but we bypass that one as well...although the guy wanted to play at first since there was a Wii and the new DSi as a prize. ^^;

The main attraction on the second floor were some really classy cars and there were even some 'single seater' vehicles. They remind me of Gundam cockpits for some reason.... lol I'll probably crash even in these things. BTW, the pic above is if the i-swing in the front and the i-unit in the back. Ummm...no relation to the ipod? ^^; Of course, I chose a car to take a pic with...here is me and my Lexus GS480H. ^-^

Junjou Romantica moment

The ferris wheel in Odaiba is special because it is the one that Misaki and Usami rode when Misaki FINALLY confesses to him. Its the biggest one closest to the Tokyo Tower and walkways in the episode are clearly those in Odaiba. The price is 900 yen and there are two waiting times: for the color gondola or the clear one. Since there are so many colored ones, the wait time for the clear ones are longer. (The clear ones have the glass floor. Ooooo....) My friends chose the colored one since the wait time was shorter...but later wanted the clear one. lol Next time, next time....

We got to take a pic together before we got on the ride. The cost for the pic is 1000 yen...so I didn't buy it. Ferris wheels are one of the most popular date attractions...so I'm glad I didn't come on a holiday. ^^; The view is splendid and the sun was about to set.

That pointy thing in the above pic? The Tokyo Tower of coruse! And then we have the Tokyo Big Sight where we were that morning....

Afterwards, we headed to the arcade nearby for a quick look. Mmmm...crepes.... We could see the colors from the wheel as we left...ending our wonderful day.
