Bosco's apartment, NYC, Wed. morning, 6:00 A.M. For once, Bosco couldn't wait to go to work. He had been in a great mood since last night. Once he went to bed, he dreamed of the next time he would see her. And now, the faster he got done with work, the quicker he'd be able to see her. He dragged himself out of bed, and went toward the kitchen for some cereal. He stopped, as he noticed that the light was blinking on his answering machine. As he hit play, he smiled as he recognized the familiar voice. "Bos? It's Susan. It's Tues. night at about 11:30. Listen, I know I just left your apartment, but I forgot to let you know where I'm staying. I'm staying at the Sheraton Hotel and the number here is 543-9830. My cell phone number is 280-5873. Give me a call if you need anything. I guess I'll see you tomorrow at 5. Thanks. Bye" By that time, Bosco had already begun eating his cereal. Setting the bowl down, he walked over and hit play, as the message from Susan played over again. He listened, just to hear the sound of her voice... ______________________________________________________________________ 55th Precinct HQ, "Camelot", Wed. morning, 6:45 A.M. Bosco smiled as he carried his duffel bag into the locker room. Sully and Davis were already putting their stuff into their lockers, and getting ready for roll call. When Bosco walked in, they both stopped talking and looked up at him. "Good morning, Davis. Good morning, Sully." Bosco said, smiling as he headed toward his locker. "Oh...my...gosh. He's gone bonkers. He's lost his marbles. Yesturday it was the flowershop and the grocery store. Today, he's in a good mood and he's 15 minutes early for work. What the hell is wrong with you, Bos?" Davis asked. "Nothing is wrong. What's wrong with being a little early and being in a good mood?" Sully retorted "First off, your never in a good mood when you have to work the early shift. And second off, your NEVER here early. Do you wanna talk, Bos? Is there something you need to tell us? Because your starting to scare me." "Sully, I've never felt better. Everybody deserves a second chance, and I just got mine. So, I'm going to make the best of it." And with that he walked out of the room. ______________________________________________________________ Sheraton Hotel, NYC, Wed. morning, 6:45 A.M. The alarm clock blarred at Susan, as she struggled to get up. She felt completely different than she did this time yesturday morning. Yesturday morning, she was mad, hurt, and embarrassed. This morning, she couldn't wait to get the conference over, and go over to Bosco's. She finally got up, turned on the news, and went to go get dressed and brush her teeth. After that, she went toward her cell phone. She had forgotten to check her voicemail last night, so she'd thought she'd check, just in case there were any messages. There was one message. Susan smiled, assuming that Bosco had called her back. She pushed play, and listened to the message. "Susan. It's Dr. Romano." Oh great, just what I need. Susan thought to herself as she rolled her eyes. "Anyways, Susan...just checking up with you to make sure you made it and that your thouroughly enjoying the conference. Mind you that the hospital is paying for you being there. And about those reports, you had BETTER have them done when you get back. I'm expecting volumes and volumes about these lectures. These lecturers are some of the best doctors in the nation. You had better have something to show for it. No shorter than 10 pages per lecture. And you should have PLENTY of time to do this. You have until you get back to Chicago to get this done. No excuses. Hopefully we're on the same page with this. Otherwise, I'll have your job. Anyways I have a heart bypass surgery scheduled, so, have a nice day." Susan rolled her eyes at that last comment. Robert could be SO cold, sometimes. He never showed any "human" emotions to others, and that message he just left was just another example of how mean he was to others. But she was just glad to be out of "Robert's wrath" as the nurses and doctor's at County referred to it as. Soon, Susan was grabbing a granola bar, her keys, notes, and running out the door to get to her conference. As she drove to the conference, she found herself driving past his apartment. She knew he wasn't there. He had told her that he had to work at 7, and it was well past that. Susan sighed as she drove past his apartment. Cupid had definetely hit her...hard.... ____________________________________________________________________ Cruising the streets, NYC, 7:40 A.M., Bos and Gusler, again...... I need aspirin...Bosco thought. He had been paired with Gusler, yet again. What a loser, Bos thought as Gusler went on and on about something. He was driving, so atleast he had something to concentrate on other than Gusler. And his hand was driving him nuts! They had responded to a call earlier this morning, and of course, since Gusler had no idea what was going on, Bosco had gotten his hand jammed into the door. They were practically wrestling this guy who was two times bigger than Bosco, and Gusler let go, and the guy rolled over, jamming Bosco's hand. It was really starting to bother him. So, he decided to drop by his apartment, and grab an ice pack out of the freezer. It's not like Gusler was going to mind. Bosco pulled into the parking lot of his apartment, illegally parked the car and went inside, leaving Gusler to wonder what the hell was going on. He ran up the steps, dodged into his apartment, grabbed the ice pack, and ran back down to the car. As he got into the car, he looked up to see Susan driving by. She was staring off into space, but she didn't notice him. Bosco sighed as she drove away. Cupid had definetely hit him...hard.... ____________________________________________________________________ Ty and Carlos' apartment, 11 P.M., NYC Bosco showed up at Ty and Carlos' apartment after he got done with his date with Susan. They had ended up going to a resturant again, and they had a great time. But, unfortunately Susan had a ton of paperwork that her boss had told her to get done, so she had to call it an evening. But she was still here for another 2 1/2 days, so he still had time. He was glad to be here, at their apartment though. It had been tradition that after the 11 o'clock shift got done, then they would meet at Ty and Carlos' apartment for beer, baseball, and food. Ty, Carlos, Sully, Doc, and Jimmy greeted him as he walked in, setting a 6 pack of beer on the table. That was the deal. Ty and Carlos provided the TV and the apartment, everybody else brought the rest. The baseball game was still going, but as always, nobody was really watching. It was there mostly for background noise. For the most part, they just sat around and ate and drank and talked bullshit. "Hey Bos! thanks for bringing some more b-b-beer." Davis slurred at him. Davis always was a little tipsy after he had a few too many, and it was obvious that tonight was not an exception. "Yea, we were just talking about you. Talking about why your acting so strange. Why your in such a good mood, and why your so happy." Sully said. "Since I know from experience, I'd say that you are in love, Bos. So, who's the lucky lady this time?" Sully asked... "Ooohhhh! Bosco's in love! Bosco's in love!" Carlos said in a teasing tone. "Yea, how long is this fling going to last, Bos?" Jimmy asked him. Doc just sat there sipping his beer. Not saying a word. Dr. Morales had been on his mind a lot lately, and he figured he's stay out of this one. "Listen, you guys. It's nothing "short-termed". I really like this woman. She's a doctor, she's smart, she's pretty...I'm really liking her." Bosco said as he sat down with a beer, trying to be casual. "Whoa! You? Long term relationship? With a doctor?" Ty asked, laughing. "Yea, Bos. I thought your motto was "Sleep with em and Dump em!" Carlos said as the whole group (except Doc) laughed. Bosco felt so angry. He could have lunged forward and choked Carlos to death. The guys continued to make fun of him, mostly Carlos. Before they could torment Bosco anymore, Bosco set his beer down and stood up. The room became silent, except for the baseball game, which was still going on. "You may think this is funny. Laugh all you want. Go ahead, I don't care. Nothing you say will change my mind. I know that my "reputation" isn't the best. But, this woman is the most amazing woman I've ever met. And if you guys aren't mature enough to understand that, then that's fine. You can laugh all you want, I don't care, but you can't change my mind, because I LOVE HER!" Bosco yelled, before slamming the door and storming down to his car. |
