November 29, 2002 Double Header So I've been gone for a while. Just a new addiction and it took me a bit long to get my lazy mind up again. I have all the plans of doing another revamp for the site. We'll see about that. I hope it pushes through though. I need a fresh look to keep me going. Okay, enough w/ some bloggers and shift to Eliza news. Leading the reports are two Of Eliza's past movies. Bring It On and Soul Survivors top the Film On TV Picks at the recent Hottie Bottie head outs. Check it out here. Mutant Offers Just an update for a possible Faith Spin-off. I was talking to jinxter of the other board. He/she mentioned about it. "As far as I know, Mutant Enemy has offered Eliza a Faith spinoff, regular job in another spinoff or appearances in a spinoff.. all kinda hazy, just the way Joss likes it. And her agents haven't turned down the offer, like they have the previous times...." I can't guarantee the accuracy of the report just a thought of boiling it. Site Updates I would like to thank all the judges at Eclipse Awards for announcing KINDRED as the winner in Best in Content category. Truly, a humbling experience. Yay, and so I'm blowing my appreciation to Piper for shooting another input at 'That Thing You Do' section. You guys are cool. It feels so damn great that people are responding very well. I'm about to cry. *smiles* Finally, the campaign is over. All the letters to Eliza will be sent tomorrow. May she grant us the thought of replying. Am I sounding sick? More of like, 'The Power of Positive Thinking.' And lastly, just a personal survey, do you guys think it's advisable to buy a Nokia 7650? Darn, all my friends are buying it. Nah, I'm tossing! November 15, 2002 Wrong Turn Update Source EDTV Guess I'm so excited to see this new film. When was the time I never said it? *lol* Checking the news and a good review, I would definitely race to see this film. Check out this brief preview. The film was a very rough cut, with a temp score and minimal sound effects. After seeing it, I came to one solid conclusion, this film will ROCK!! This film is truly scary, not funny scary like most recent teen horror films but scary SCARY like the old classic 70's and 80's horror films. Jeepers Creepers has nothing on this movie! The acting was superb, Eliza Dushku stole the show as a strong lead character. Kevin Zeger's character is a real...well...you know. He plays the role very well, and you'll be happy to know that his character as well as the others have a lot of time before the mountain men show up. Oh, and the mountain men....you don't even wanna know, but you will in March. That's all I can say about it, but know this, be prepared to be scared! Site Update Two awards were given to KINDRED. Thanks to IT awards. I gave out one as well. It's always nice to be interactive. Talking about interactivity, I have added inputs in 'That Thing You Do' section. Thanks a lot to Piper, Auzzie Boi and Dushkuchick for the contributions. Drop your own note too. And as always, join my message board. See you! Personal Note Today is Friday and it's party time! I just came in from watching Harry Potter. I was drove to watch it along w/ my lovely friends. Did I like it? Well, did you watch the first part? Paranomal! And I thought I need a blogger, my temporary home. I would like to scream my heart out and I'm deeply miserable. This may sound off, but I'll tell you anyway. My 9-year old dog died today. Can you relate? Nah, I'm releasing my depression. Bye! November 9, 2002 Fancies Get some Eliza's fancy treats at Celebrity Desktop. It caters to a good taste of all you need- to-have in desktop themes, screen savers, desktop wallpaper, downloads, Internet Explorer hotbars, AOL buddy icons, AIM icons, Yahoo messenger themes, celebrity calculators, celebrity games, celebrity postcards, ecards, icq skins, winamp skins, active desktops, celebrity mania, and etcetera. November 5, 2002 Counting Down While we are waiting for Faith's return in Sunnydale. It's worth seeing the current episodes running. From time to time, I'll be giving updates until the brunette slayer is onset again. Here's the preview of what's coming. Taken from Buffy's official newsletter. BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER New Episodes All Month Long Upcoming Shows Tonight's Episode "HIM" - Dawn develops a major crush on a hunky jock, which turns into a comic free-for-all when Buffy, then Anya and even Willow fall for the same guy. With the women wholly distracted, it's up to uneasy allies Xander and Spike to discover the source of the girls' bizarre behavior. Thad Luckinbill ("The Young And The Restless") and musical artists The Breeders guest star. November 12th "CONVERSATIONS WITH DEAD PEOPLE" - Joyce visits Dawn from the beyond. Buffy has a revealing chat with a Vampire and Willow receives a ghostly visitor whom she believes may well be Tara, all of which portend an imminent, unpleasant future. Meanwhile, Jonathan and Andrew return to Sunnydale for some inevitably unpleasant mischief. Kristine Sutherland returns as Joyce, Buffy and Dawn's deceased mother. November 19th "SLEEPER" - Fearful that Spike may be killing again, the gang's investigation into his mysterious behavior climaxes in a formidable confrontation between him and Buffy. Meanwhile, Giles makes what may be a cataclysmic discovery that could affect everyone's future. Musical artist Aimee Mann guest stars as herself and performs the song "Pavlov's Bell." Site Update Okay, nothing much, except I've given an award. If you think you deserve an award for your site, then go ahead and check my 'Win An Award' section. Register here. November 2, 2002 End Of Buffy? Taken from E! Online None of the cast members has signed on for an eighth season--contracts are up at the end of this year. And Emma Caulfield is the only one to publicly announce her plans for a departure. "I just know it's my last year," she said recently. "I think this is it for me." (Caulfield will finish out this season, however.) Still, Whedon is hopeful the show will be back--in one form or another. "I think the chances for an eighth season are good," he says. "Whether or not they will include Sarah, I don't know, but I suspect there may be some kind of incarnation of the show, even if she decides to pull back or even pull out altogether. Right now, I'm looking at every possibility humanly possible, but it doesn't really affect where we're going this year." How likely is it that Sarah Michelle Gellar will stick around? A source close to the show tells me not very. "The buzz around set," he says, "is it's 90 percent sure Sarah will not sign on, that she feels it's time to focus on other things, like her film career. If she does sign on for another year, it will probably be for part of the season, not the full 22 episodes. They're sort of preparing for that." And that means the cultivation of a spinoff, most likely with Dawn (Michelle Trachtenberg) or Faith (Eliza Dushku). The producers have been working to redeem Trachtenberg's character this season after the shrieky little sis grated on fans' nerves last season. (The new mandate: No more whining.) They're also bringing back Dushku for this season's last five episodes, which obviously could segue nicely into a Faith follow-up. Still, Whedon insists Dushku's return has little to do with a spinoff. "Eliza's coming back because we're doing a hell of a season finale this year. I love her, and I think she belongs in the mix. But that doesn't mean it's going to be the Faith show--although God knows I'd watch it. It doesn't mean anything beyond that we got the opportunity to see her again, which we hadn't had for a while." When asked about other spinoff possibilities, such as a Dawn show, Whedon said, "At this point, the answer to every question is, 'Yes, maybe.' We're sort of prepared for anything." Bottom line: We'll just have to do the one thing we tube addicts despise most: Wait. One thing is certain, though, according to a source close to UPN, the network is definitely open to something Buffy-esque. I'm told that if Whedon puts together something even remotely similar, "they'll be on it like flies on rabbit droppings." So, who knows? We could end up with Anya the Bunny Slayer. This Is Your Brain on Buffy: What's a girl to do when her gray matter is sucked by an evil (yet fashionable) She-God? Make a movie, natch. That's exactly what Amber Benson did when her Buffy alter ego, Tara, fell prey to big bad Glory last season. "It was perfect timing," she says, "because I was spouting babble and wandering around in my pajamas." A few weeks ago, Amber was kind enough to invite me to a screening of Chance, the (not yet distributed) independent film she wrote, directed, produced and starred in. And if there's ever a question about whether the "Grr...Argh" tribe is tight-knit, let this be your answer: James Marsters (Spike), Andy Hallett (Lorne), Buffy writer David Fury and Buffy boss Joss penned the opening song. And Amber even has a makeout session with the real-life wife of Nicholas Brendon (Xander), Tressa DiFiglia. Talk about keeping it in the family. "Poor James and Andy were working really hard on Buffy and Angel and then shooting for me on the weekends," Benson explained. "They were so dedicated. Friends are wonderful. They give you 150 percent." The movie, filmed last April over a series of weekends, is about a girl named Chance (Benson) who finds a possible love connection in the most unlikely of places--with her stinky, bumbling roommate Simon (Marsters). But what will be most surprising to Buffy fans is the sizzling chemistry between Benson and Marsters (who actually dons a dress in one scene) and the fact that without the green makeup and horns, Hallett is one scrumptious specimen. "I wrote Chance because I loved playing Tara," Benson said, "but I needed something else to do. As much fun as it was, sometimes I felt like an appendage just stating the obvious when Giles wasn't around. But it was inspiring to be on set because they are doing such good work." Which leads us to what every Buffy fan is dying to know: What are the chances Benson will come back to the show? "It's been up for discussion," she admitted. "It's just kind of, like, what my schedule is and what they want to do with the character. I've become really protective of her. I want to make sure if Tara comes back, it's for good reason. And I know Joss cares about the character and the relationship that Tara and Willow had--or, I guess, continue to have, sort of...So we'll see." In the meantime, Benson has had an offer from a straight-to-video vendor but is hopeful she'll find a place for Chance on the big screen--even if it's a brief run. "I just think it'd be so much fun to see it in the theater," she said, "but this movie is not brain surgery. I'm not trying to change anybody's perception of the world. I'm just trying to put something out there that's kind of fun." Site Update I am so overwhelmed! Round 2 is over at Sunny-D awards and the judges have decided. I won in Best Character Site and Best Lay-out categories. What a pleasant surprise! Thank you so much! Happy Halloween to all! October 29, 2002 Buffy's Last Drop Of Blood? I can't really think straight on this matter. Chip on your shoulder and I feel really bad. Well nothing is confirm yet, but the anticipation is already there. I still want the whole scooby gang! Though a Faith spin-off would lighten the mood enough. Article provided below is still part of Joss Whedon's interview with TV Guide On Line. Taken from PAGESIX.COM ‘BUFFY the Vampire Slayer' creator Joss Whedon now admits that this current season is likely indeed be the show's last. "I'm beginning to suspect that it may be [Buffy's] last season," he told TV Guide Online. "Nothing's official, but it's starting to feel possible. The way people are talking, there's a finality to it." Star Sarah Michelle Gellar's contract expires in May, and Gellar has said she' not sure about continuing. Eliza Dushku will reprise her role as bad-girl slayer Faith at season's end, and speculation is that Dushku could step in to head a spinoff series. "That possibility exists," Whedon said. But "it's one of many." As for this season's story, Whedon says: "It's going to be a big finish in May, so that if it is the last season, that's great. And if it's not, if ‘Buffy' continues or some incarnation of ‘Buffy' continues, it will serve that as well. There's always more stories to tell." A Site Update One award for KINDRED. Thanks. |
