The Solider | ||||||||
What defines and slightly seperates the Soldier from another warrior, such as the Calvary man, is his preference to toe-to-toe combat; he prefers to fight and travel on foot. The smell of the ground beneath his feet, as well as the confidence in his sure footing, fuel his prefence to be on foot. His primary duties are to adhere to the commands of higher-ranking members and to protect the Kingdom with his fighting abilties. At this level he has achieved a keen ability at facing dangerous beasts and enemies hand-to-hand. Because of his growing abilites he can wishstand and deal out more punishment than before. Most soldiers prefer sword weapons but it is not uncommon for one to be seen using a mace or fencing weapon. It is extremely rare to see a soldier with a bow or other ranged weapon because he relishes in the ability to face his enemy toe to toe. The smell of blood and steel upon steel brings a great rush to the soldier. A soldier should never be underestimated because his love for his peers and Kingdom are that of a giant. There is more than one way to role-play a warrior. You are encouraged to incorperate your own unique ideas into your warrior. Please see the "Role-playing a Warrior" section for help and information. Uniform: Sash or tunic in the guild color. You may wear any other clothing on your character's body so long as your character looks European medieval. Arms and Armor: Light to heavy armor. This includes leather, ringmail, chainmail and platemail. The Soldier is not to wear any samurai or ninja armor that is not European medieval in appearance. The Soldier prefers heavier armor to that of light. His sheer stength allows him to move effortlessly in heavy armor. However, it is not entirely uncommon to see a soldier in leather armor because it is, at times, his preference. All melee ranged weapons are allowed. You are not restricted from using bows, however keep in mid your fellow warriors, especially veterans, will look at your character in disgust and shame because a warrior of Inethria prefers close combat over ranged. Restrictions: No mounts, the solider prefers to be on foot at all time. No items of samurai or elven heritage. Please use judgement in this area. You may use an item so long as it cannot be seen on your character or if it appears European medieval in design. You may also use a weapon that is not overtly obvious such as nun chucks. Ask a member of leadership with questions regarding particular items allowed.
