The squire is the bottom rung of the Knighthood ladder. Just being accepted in it self is an honor no to be taken lightly. He is a student that will be mentored to a specific ranking member; this may include being mentored to the Knight Commander. There will only be ONE squire per Knight at one time. This time will be used to hone all of the skills that will be called upon to successfully portray a Knight of Inethria. Your role-play abilities and melee skills will be tested in many ways both obvious and the not so obvious. This is still an introductory period to be used to determine if this is the right place and path for you. A squire's role-play and melee skills will determine their length of indenture at this rank. Once his skills, abilities, and character development have met the requirements and approval of his Knight he will be eligible for advancement. There is a minimum of one month within this rank but there is no upper limit. If one wishes to follow the path of knighthood he should seek out the King or Queen and make his desires known. The Knight Commander will decide advancement for Squire to Knight after recommendation by the squire's mentor. Upon receiving this, the Knight Commander will consult the King and Queen for final judgment. Upon the squire's knighthood he will be given a grand ceremony by his Knight, the Knight Commander, King and Queen. It is not uncommon for the squire's Knight to present him with an array of fine equipment upon his knighting ceremony. Upon this time the squire will join the rank of the Knight's Realm and take an oath set by the King.
Uniform:
- The squire will wear a tunic in the same color of their Knight. This is to represent which Knight they are learning under. The squire is not to take it upon himselft to choose his own uniform. The squire will typically wear colors and clothes similar to his Knight.
Armor:
- The squire will arm and dress himself with armor and weapons provided or approved by his Knight. The squire is not to take it upon themselves to choose their own arms and armor. It is uncommon for the Knight to dress his squire in full plate until later stages in his development. If the squire wishes to use a weapon or piece of armor owned by them they must first ask his Knight if such is allowed. It is solely up to the Knight's discretion. This is not to put a thumb under the squire but is used to help the naive role player from straying his path.
Restrictions:
- Cannot ride a mount unless approved by his Knight. No armor or items of elven or samurai heritage. Please use sound judgment in this area. You may use an item so long as it cannot be seen on your character.
Allowed Skills:
-Any skills EXCEPT magery, evaluate intelligence, necromancy, poisoning, meditation, spell weaving, alchemy, spirit speak, bushido, ninjitsu, hiding and stealth. If you wish your character to use any of the mentioned skills then you must petition to your Knight before seeking out an expert in that specific 'Path'. For example, if you wish your character to learn magery in order to use spells such as Energy Vortex then you are to seek out a Wizard before using it in game.
