Kingdom of Paladias
The Kingdom of Paladias began the year with 11 members.  By the end of ht year we grew to 14 members.
Ø We held monthly tournaments every month.  The winter months saw us indoors at the Mid-Columbia Library auditorium.  This venue provides plentiful tables and chairs, and is a big enough room to even hold combat indoors during the coldest, wettest, or windiest of days.  Archery cannot be held, but is postponed for fairer weather in spring.
Ø Outdoor events were held at Flat Top Park in West Richland.  We appreciate being able to shoot archery at this venue, and hold complete tournaments.
Ø Regular combat practices were held at Columbia Park during the warm months.  These were well attended.  We also held archery practices and Project nights.
Ø In April we had Tournament of Fools, a tradition carried over from our previous group.
Ø Memorial Day was celebrated with a picnic in Highlands Grange Park.  We had over twenty people attend this social event.
Ø Elections were held in June.  For our first Monarch we elected Dame Juliana of Aelfrethscoombe.  Our Senators are Sir Mathe Brakkewinde and Lady Angeni Oni.
Ø Ye Merrie Greenwood Renaissance Faire demonstrations were organized by Paladias.  Participants from both kingdoms fought well, and taught in our Craft Hall.
Ø A feast was held in August in honor of two years of friendship of those in our group, and all the work that got us to this point.  The feast was organized by Sir Birka Kveld Ulf with the assistance of Lord Gordon and Lady Angeni Oni.  The food was excellent, and the entertainment arranged was the Troupe Du Soleil bellydancers.  Sir Mathe was roasted by the Troupe, as arranged by Sir Birka, in appreciation for past service.  The Coronation of Queen Juliana of Paladias was also held at this event.
Ø Mid Columbia Library invited us to participate with the summer reading program by holding a demonstration at the Keewaydin Park Branch in August.
Ø Burbank Elementary School invited us to educate the fourth graders learning about the Middle Ages.  Combat was as usual popular, as was the opportunity to pick up chain mail that weighed more than the kids.
Ø A Persona Development contest was held to encourage creation of stories to go with our members personas.  Although Sir Mathe certainly had the most amusing story, Dame Juliana’s was selected as the winner since it more closely reached the goal of historical believability.
Ø In December we held the Michaelmas feast and home-made-gift exchange, another tradition carried over from our previous group.  Members of both kingdoms made gifts to exchange.
We look forward to increasing our future demonstrations, and finding more venues.

Sir Mathe and Dame Juliana entered this organization as Knights.  They were soon joined by Sir Birka Kveld Ulf, so that by the end of 2005 three of the Kingdom members had attained Knighthood rank.

Respectfully submitted,
~Dame Juliana of Aelfrethscoombe
