“Crimson Tears”
Chapter 1


The breeze blows across an open field as the cherry blossoms dance in the wind, they gently fall to the earth landing in a near by brook and resting upon a young women that was laying in the field looking up into the beautiful spring sky. Her eyes of blue cast upward watching the birds dance against a pail blue sky, the sun dresses in a pail yellow as it sets high above her warming her very soul. The look upon her face as if she has not a care in the world as she is one with Mother Nature. She sits herself up looking at the brook as the cherry blossoms dance upon the surface of the water. She hears the water rushing over the rocks as the calming sounds of nature surrounds her.

She rises to her feet walking to the edge of the stream; she kneels down looking into the water of crystal blue as her reflection appears she smiles as she moves back her long golden hair. She reaches out to touch the water surface when she hears a voice call out across the brook.

“It as been a long time Cecile… I thought I would never see you again, after what happen. Why are you back?”

She looks up to see an old acquaintance standing across the brook at the edge of the water, “It has been a long time… Inuyasha…” Cecile said smiling back at him.

Three others come walking out from the forest behind him, “You know Inuyasha, you really need to let us know when you want to just take off like…” Miroku pauses as he looks across the brook seeing a young woman standing there smiling at them.

“Who’s that Inuyasha?” Shippo asks him.

Inuyasha looks down at Shippo “An old friend Shippo.”

Inuyasha looks back up at Cecile as he jumps over to her side of the brook. She steps back from him as he lands next to her.

“Well you did not answer my question, why are you back are you looking to die? You know he will kill you if he sees you here.” Inuyasha tells her. The others start making their way across the brook as she watches them come across.

“That is all you are worried about? I do not even get a ‘Hello or how have you been’... Are you not going to introduce me to your friends?” Cecile says still watching them walk across.

Inuyasha grabs Cecile by her arms making her look at him, “Answer my question Cecile!”

She calmly looks at Inuyasha and gets a look of uncertainty upon her face, “This is my home Inuyasha why should I not come back?”

Inuyasha still having a hold of her exclaims, “Did you forget what he told you… He said he would kill you if he saw you again.”

She smiles at him, “He cannot kill me, if he could or wanted to he would have all ready done it.”

“Who wants to kill you Miss?” Miroku asks her.

“I want to know why someone would want to kill you, you look harmless to me.” Shippo says.

“And who might you all be?” Cecile asks them.

“It does not matter who they are your not going to be here long enough to get to know them. You have to go back to where you have been for the last 100 years.” Inuyasha tells her.

“100 years!!” Sango exclaims they all stand there with a look of shock on their faces as they look at Inuyasha and Cecile.

“I will not be going anywhere but home. That is where I was headed when you found me.” Cecile says as she looks down at Shippo, “I am not as harmless as you would think little Fox demon.” She tells him.

“My name is Shippo Ma’am.” He tells her smiling up at her, she kneels down next to him as she extends out her arm above her head and her hand open she slowly closes her eyes and closes her hand. The wind starts to blow picking up cherry blossoms, sending them in to a whirlwind scattering them across the earth once again. They all watch as the cherry blossoms dance around them and the gentle wind encircles them. Inuyasha grabs her arm jerking her to her feet as the cherry blossoms fall to the earth.

“Wow that was cool!” Shippo exclaims.

“Stop this foolishness, if you keep this up he is for sure going to pick up your scent.” Inuyasha says.

“Let him, you know I am not afraid of him.” Cecile tells him as she turns and starts to walk away from Inuyasha and the others. She steps out onto the water of the brook as she walks upon the surface of the water never once did she sink into the water and her feet become wet. Sango, Miroku and Shippo look wide eyed as she makes her way across the brook.

“You should be damn it, your powers and spells are not going to stop him forever he will grow immune to them as you use them on him.” Inuyasha jumps back across the brook and grabs her again as she steps to the bank.

“He is not human Cecile he is a demon has your love for him made you that blind?”

“Who are they talking about?” Shippo asks Miroku and Sango, Miroku looks at Shippo that is now perched on his shoulder.

“I am not sure Shippo, but I have this feeling…”

“Do you really think that is who they are talking about?” Sango says.

“The way Inuyasha is acting yes I do.” Miroku says.

“So I wonder how does Inuyasha know her.” Sango says.

“I am not sure Sango, but if she is in danger maybe we should travel with her to her village…” Miroku says.

“Maybe it would calm Inuyasha down some if he was to see that she made it home safe.” Shippo says.

“You might have something there Shippo.” Miroku says as he steps back into the water to cross again.

Inuyasha and Cecile are still quarrelling over her being back as Miroku steps up on the bank next to them he says, “Inuyasha would it make you feel better if we were to follow her to her village. Then you would know she had arrived safely.”

“That is not going to stop Sesshomaru if he picks up on her scent or if she calls for him.” Inuyasha tells Miroku.

“So it is Lord Sesshomaru you are talking about.” Miroku says smiling.

Cecile smiles at Miroku, “Yes it is…”

“Stop smiling Cecile you act as if he does not hate you!” Inuyasha exclaims.

“So you are in love with Lord Sesshomaru?” Sango asks her. Cecile smiles at Sango as she steps up next to her.

“Yes I have loved Sesshomaru for many years.” Cecile replies.

“I would say so if you have been gone for 100 years, and still love him knowing he wants to kill you.” Shippo says.

“Yes my love for Sesshomaru runs very deep and I know in my heart he would never harm me.” Cecile tells them.

“You’re a fool Cecile; you were when you cast that stupid spell on him, and your a fool now to think he is not going to kill you still for casting it on him.” Inuyasha tells her as he watches her walk away from them.

Cecile calmly calls back to them not turning around, “Thank you kind Monk for your offer to see me to my village, but I will be fine I do hope we will all meet again.”

Cecile walks farther into the forest as Inuyasha growls under his breath saying, “She is so hard headed… Always has been.”

Inuyasha yells into the forest, “Fine I hope he finds you and then you will see I was right about him.”

“Inuyasha! Now that was not nice. I know you do not want your brother finding her. I can tell you were once good friends or you would not be so worried about Sesshomaru finding her.” Miroku says.

“Do you think we should stay close behind her Miroku?” Sango says.

“She can take care of herself there is nothing we can do that she cannot. She is very powerful and her spells can stop or destroy anything that crosses her path, if she so wishes to destroy it.” Inuyasha tells them as he starts to walk into the forest as well.

“Is she a demon Inuyasha?” Shippo asks him.

“No she is not a demon Shippo. She is a very powerful sorceress.” He tells him.

“A sorceress you say.” Miroku says running up to Inuyasha’s side, “So why are you following her if she can take care of herself.” Inuyasha looks at Miroku and growls as he picks up his pace to move away from him.

“You know you should not get him upset like that, he will only run off and get him self into trouble Miroku.” Sango tells him.

“I know but I think it is so funny to see the look on his face when you catch him doing something he thinks you are not aware of.” Miroku tells her smiling.

“So I guess we are following her?” Shippo asks.

“Looks that way Shippo, good thing Kagome is not going to be back for a few more days.” Sango tells him. Shippo nods as they follow Inuyasha off into the forest.


As the sunsets bringing the darkness, the travelers find themselves setting down into camp for the night, not to far from where Cecile has settled in for the night.

“Where did Inuyasha go Miroku?” Shippo asks him.

“I think he went to talk to Cecile again.” Miroku says looking off in the direction Cecile was staying.

“I wonder what happen between them… I mean for Inuyasha to feel the way he does about her coming back, he was not happy at all about seeing her today. You would think if you had not seen someone for 100 years you would be happy to see them after so long.” Sango says.

“I think he is more worried about Lord Sesshomaru finding her then anything. I do not think it was because he was not happy to see her it was that he knows what would happen if his brother found her as well. He fears for her safety. I would have to say they were very close friends a long time ago.” Miroku says he hears Inuyasha speak as he sees him walking into the camp site.

“I was raised in Cecile’s village… My Mother and I lived there. Cecile and I grew up together we were playmates as kids, she was the only one in the village that looked at me as a person and not a half-breed. We became good friends as the years past.” Inuyasha says as he walks over to the fire with the others.

“Well Cecile is not what you would call a normal human.” Sango says.

“Yes that is true but she is still human even though she has powers, Sango.” Miroku says looking at her.

“They did not look down on her or her family for what they were her father was very powerful and kept the demons away from the village by killing them with his spells… he hated all demons. Her father was training Cecile since she was old enough to walk so she could help him in the village. She became very powerful very quickly she succeed her father when it came to her powers.” Inuyasha told them.

“So did he hate you Inuyasha?” Shippo asks him.

“At first he did not like me, but as time went on he seen I was nothing like the other demons he was killing that came into the village. There were even a few times I helped them rid the village of a demon or two.” Inuyasha told Shippo.

“So you and Cecile became good friends while you were growing up together.” Miroku says.

“Yes,” Inuyasha told him.

“So did Cecile and her father try to kill Sesshomaru… Is that why he wants to kill her and what about her father does he want him dead as well.” Miroku asks.

Inuyasha hangs his head, “Sesshomaru already killed her father.” He mumbled.

“H… Sesshomaru killed her father and she still is in love with him.” Sango said in a stunned tone.

Inuyasha quickly lifts his head and cocks it listening into the night as he hears singing fill the night air. Miroku asking him at the same time, “So how did Cecile and Sesshomaru meet?”

Inuyasha quickly jumps to his feet running off into the night back toward where Cecile was at. “Now wh…” Miroku started to say.

“SHHH!!” Sango says cutting Miroku off “Someone is singing can you hear it?” Sango asks him.

“Yes I can and it is very lovely, her voice is very beautiful and her song is so very sad.” Miroku says.

“Do you think it is Cecile…? You saw how Inuyasha took out of here.” Sango says.

“Why would Inuyasha worry about her singing?” Shippo asks.

“Let’s go find out…” Miroku says as he jumps up and runs off in the direction Inuyasha ran.

Sango sighs and shakes her head, “I swear those two are going to be the death of me.” She and Shippo get up and followed Miroku into the night.

“WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING CECILE?” Inuyasha yells at her when he reached her destination. Cecile continues to sing to the heavens as Inuyasha walks up to her grabbing her arm and turning her to face him.

“Answer me?!” Inuyasha yells again.

Miroku stops in the trees just out of their sight listening to what they have to say to one another. Sango and Shippo walk up joining him a few minutes later.

“I am singing Inuyasha; I do that when I feel sad.” Cecile tells him.

“Your calling Sesshomaru do not lie to me.” Inuyasha exclaims.

“So what if I am I have not…”

“If he sees you he is going to kill you, you know that.” Inuyasha says cutting her off grabbing a hold of both arms now.

“What do you care Inuyasha…” she says pulling away from him she turns her back and continues her thought as she slowly walked away from him, “You’re the one that took me away from here never to see you or my home again. I would think you would be happy to see me die, you knew where I was you took me there yourself and you never returned to see me not even once…” a tear made its way down Cecile’s cheek, “I thought we were friends Inuyasha, you told me you would come see me and you never returned.” Cecile says.

“It was not that easy Cecile things… Well things just fell apart here after you left.” Inuyasha told her.

Cecile laughs under her breath, “Things you say, I lost my father because of your brother and the love I possess for him. I lost my best friend and my home all in one day, but things fell apart here for you.” Cecile says.

“You lost your father because he tried to kill Sesshomaru because of your love for a demon.” Inuyasha says as he places his hand on her shoulder.

“Your father was furious when he found out you were in love with him. I heard what he told you that night before he died.” Inuyasha told her.

“He should not have interrupted with what was going on, between me and Sesshomaru. We were only sitting and talking by the stream when he found us.” Cecile exclaimed.

“Your father hated demons and you knew that Cecile when he seen you sitting there talking to him. He was certain Sesshomaru had you under a spell.” Inuyasha told her.

“No demon could cast a spell upon me, not then and definitely not now. My father was just being a fool and was judging Sesshomaru by what he had seen from the other demons.” Cecile says, “Why father… Why did you have to interfere? You would still be alive today if you would have just left things alone.” Cecile cast her eyes to the heavens looking for answers as another tear rolls down her cheek.

“Your father loved you very much Cecile and he was trying to stop you from making a big mistake in your life.” Inuyasha says stepping up next to her. “Just like I am trying to do now, Sesshomaru is nothing like he was 100 years ago he has changed; he still has a hatred for humans that eats away inside of him.” Inuyasha added.

“But rumors say he travels with a young human child?” Cecile says.

Inuyasha laughs, “Yes Rin… his brat.”

“Inuyasha that is not nice to call a child that. If I remember you were a brat, and I doubt if she is anything like you when you were a child.” Cecile says.

Inuyasha rubs the back of his head as he smiles at Cecile, “Either way she is different in Sesshomaru’s eyes. He is mad at you for your father trying to kill him, and then you went and casts that spell on him when he told you to stay away from him.”

Inuyasha starts to laugh, “Man he was hot that night you called him to you. I have seen him mad before and even now I do not think I have ever seen him so mad. I think it was the whole idea that you were able to cast the spell on him that made him mad.” Inuyasha says still smiling at her.

“The spell was a spell that only works on someone if that person holds some kind of endearment for the person that cast it upon them.” Cecile says.

Inuyasha stood there with a look of bewilderment on his face, “So what you just said was that for the spell to work on Sesshomaru he had to have some kind of feelings of liking you or even loving you for it to work on him.”

“Yes Sesshomaru holds one kind of endearment for me, which is how I know he would not kill me.” Cecile tells him.

“I still do not trust him even if you say he will not, he has changed too much Cecile. I know you want to see him, but please do me this one favor.” Inuyasha says.

“What is that Inuyasha?” Cecile asks him.

“I want you to let us see you back to your village and I want to be there when you try to call on him again. Just incase he shows up, so I know you will be safe. I know you will not kill him if he tries to kill you… Your back home I do not want to lose you or have to see you leave again because of my brother.”

Cecile nods and smiles at Inuyasha as she gives him a hug, “It is good to be home again and see you once more Inuyasha.”

Inuyasha wraps his arms around Cecile and hugs her, “It is good to have you back as well Cecile. I missed you so much you were my only friend back then and I had to keep you safe even though it meant sending you away…”

They stood there for a few seconds as Inuyasha pulls away from Cecile, “Are you sure Sesshomaru is still under this spell of yours? It has been a very long time since he has had to think of you or even see you.” Inuyasha asks her.

“I will not know until he shows his self to me when I call on him.” Cecile tells Inuyasha.

“But what if he just hears your voice or picks up on your scent and comes to you on that?” Inuyasha asks her.

“The first time I see Sesshomaru when I call on him he will tell me, just like he did the first time I called to him when I cast the spell. He asks me what I had done to him for when he heard me singing he could not help but come to me no matter how hard he fought it. He followed the sound of my voice and came to me.” Cecile told him.

“He is going to be mad if that spell is still cast over him after all these years.” Inuyasha says.

“We shall see Inuyasha, we shall see.” Cecile says. She takes Inuyasha’s hand as they start to walk back to where he and the others are staying for the night.
