Hot Times, Cool Cars show
August 29th 2004

The show was a lot of fun and I guess there were at least 500-700 cars there. Mike Stevens stopped by and Ron and I discussed the fact that there were many hot rods there that wouldn't admit to being kit cars, but with a close eye, you could see that the body was probably a kit. Too bad they wern't proud to own a kit car and mention the manufacturer, but I guess there is still a stigma about kit cars being inferior. There were many interesting things to see including an inflatable car cover that created a bubble to store your car/boat in??!!  Here are some of those hot rods/kit cars....
There were also several Cobras in attendance at the show, but I didn't get a chance to meet with any of the owners.  Here is a photo of one of them...
This was a great show to attend because the weather was favorable and there were many great cars to look at.  We first met at a nearby bowling alley parking lot to group up and decide the best way to enter.  Gene Webber showed up to show us his Classic Roadsters Dutchess.  This is a really nice car with a lot of detail and Gene has put many special touches in this car.  He could not stay though and left before the show started.
Ron Schlattmen also showed up with his 1934 Mercedes replica and I also was there with the Aztec 7.  I wish we had gotten a spot next to the trees as it became quite warm as the day progressed.  Here's a picture of our cars, my Aztec in front and Rons car in back....
