Hello! I'm Laura and this is my first attempt at web publishing. I hope you're enjoying your stay! I originally started Laura's Celestial Lounge only so a friend of mine, David, who was stationed on an military base in Hawaii, could view my new photos without having his email jammed. It has since snowballed into what you see so far. Well, this is the "about me" page so here goes... I'm a 39 year old Italian/German/Slovak. I have 1 brother (Joe), 2 step brothers (Chris & Mike), 1 step sister (Laura), a 10 lb. gray and white 18 year old cat named Tucker and a 7 lb. all black 11 month old kitten named Sydney. My extended family on both sides encompasses 100+ people and 2 continents (my Uncle Chuck and his family live in Japan). Large families make wonderful holiday get togethers! I was born in Cleveland, OH, moved to Mansfield, OH around the age of 5, moved back to Cleveland at age 7 and went to St. Patrick's catholic school through the 7th grade, at which time, my parents got divorced. My brother and I moved in with my father. I then went to Mayfield High School and graduated in 1986. I moved in with my fiance in Sharon, PA in 1989, got married in 1990, earned my Associates Degree in Information Processing while in PA, moved back to Cleveland in 1996 and got my own place. I got divorced in 1997. I began work at Caraustar April 1, 1998 and was there until January 21, 2007. I was very happy there and thought I would retire there, but the company isn't doing all that well right now. I guess they couldn't afford to keep me anymore because they eliminated my position and gave me 10 weeks severance. My boss left the company for a better opportunity at CardPak in November of 2006, so nothing was the same anymore anyway. I wish he could have taken me with him, but it just wasn't possible at the time. I did some time at Lincoln Electric for 2 months, but "doing time" was exactly what it felt like. I couldn't stand working there and quit last week. I'm currently looking for new employment. In July 1998 I met a man online in Matchmakers. We were happy together for almost 7 years. I learned a lot from him and loved him very much, but he decided it was time to move on. I wish him well. I was seeing a guy 12 years my junior, believe it or not, for a year until February 18, 2007. He is adorable, sweet, a lot of fun and very affectionate. We were each other's rebounds though and it was bound to end. We're still very good friends. We talk on the phone almost every night and hang out once every couple weeks to watch Entourage together. Right now I'm working on being happy within myself, finding a new love, a new job, and starting over fresh in all aspects of my life. |
