This is my ode to my friend Maria Baria Gomez. How did I meet her? I met Maria in 8th grade. We were both in the pull out program, so we were on the same bus and took the same classes in high school ( Hon. Algebra and French). We actually met on our way to Hon. Algebra one day cuz for some reason her school got there later than everyone else during the first week. How long have I known her? Well since I've known her since 8th grade, that means we've been friends for...6 years now. Memorable Moments: Oh lord, Maria and I have gone through a lot of REALLY funny moments that I will never forget. A few amongst them: ~ French class making fun of Stephan! ~ Feshman year health class, when Maria hid her food from Ms. Tibstra and later we found out that Maria had an eating problem according to a survey we took LOL ~Sophomore year, Maria and I (along with Crystal Harps) made a movie for Mr. Sheridan's English class on sleep deprivation. That was sooo funny. I did a Mexican hat dance with a sombrero and everything. ~Junior year Maria and I had quite a few Grand Theft Auto experiences. That still gives me the chills. We would have been caught sooo many times. ~Senior Year...EVERYTHING. Senior stuff and Boobie NIghts and Prom!!! There are just so many things! Blah blah blee blo blee blo cow. I remember how THAT came about too. I'll tell you the short version. I was teaching Maria some of the exercises that we did to warm up for theatre, and that was one of them. We laughed about it and I told her that I wanted to use it in the same context as "yada yada yada." She thought is was funny, SOOOO our blee blo cow was born. Things she's helped me with and why she's memorable: Maria is one of those people that you can just trust off the bat. She has such a unique personality and her and I are ALWAYS on the same page. We're here > <. (Hehehe, and I know she got that.) She has always supported me through all my problems. Let me tell you that she's heard a billion stories about everything that went wrong in my high school life. She was always behind me no matter what and she still is, even if we don't go to the same school (YET). She has a way of making me laugh no matter what we're talking about. In fact, we used to sit on the phone for hours and talk about a whole lot of nothing. Those were the funniest conversations. We had a thing about the painting show on PBS with Bob Ross. I know, we're weird. But I really like that. We ARE weird, and when we're together, we're OOBER weird. It makes being her friend SO much fun. I can't wait to be down there at U of I, cuz me and Maria are gonna have a blast. I think I can honestly say that without Little Mer ( I gave here that nickname Sophomore year BTW) my life would be a little duller. :-D Thanks mer! You are a little pony (clippity clop clippity clop)! Guesstures RULES!! That's what I said the clerk! Next Ode: Octavio Mendoza |
