Re-assembly Page 1 - Homecoming.

A perfect sized hire trailer. The car is now home!
My faithfull helper (and sticky fingered!). The garage is painted and new lights fitted for maximum comfort.
Rear window installed with NOS rubber and chrome trim. Need to source the 2 lower strips. Boot lid fitted. NOS rear 'Honda' badge and lock assembly. NOS rear lights fitted but not connected yet. Looking for a NOS rear bumper from Europe at the moment.
Drivers door. Original window frame has been stripped and polished. NOS winder mech and door latch assembly have been fitted. Reconditioning the handle and lock.
Could'nt resist fitting the 'face' straight away! The headlights are NOS sealed beam. I'm doubting that they'll be bright enough for regular night driving though! NOS front turn signals/ side lights. Clear lenses are correct for this age of vehicle in New Zealand and look much better than orange. The grill is reconditioned and polished. The 'H' badge is NOS. I have a good condition bumper that may polish or have to be re-chromed.
Reconditioned vent trims have simply been lightly polished and re-painted. NOS rear strut visible. Wheels to be stripped and re-painted including new tyres.
This is the reason why I have gone so far with the quality of restoration. I can't wait for the day that I hold this NOS steering wheel, and drive what I hope will feel like a brand new 34 year old car!
Rear axle, fuel tank and NOS rear exhaust section installed. I have sprayed the once plated parts with gold enamel paint. A little bright but it should dull with age.
Passenger side NOS door handle now fitted. Filler cap door, spring catch and filler cap also in place.
Another view, showing the rear axle, exhaust with NOS rubber mounting and a dirty backing place after many weeks being stored on it's side waiting for the completed body. Fresh underbody seal is also visible.
