EVERYWHERE? |
Yes, everywhere. Ads can be found in between TV shows, radio shows, magaszine pages, and on the streets. Today, they can even be shown during movies or TV shows, with product placement on the rise as an advertising technique. In movies, a character may have a sip of a Sprite while the viewer watched the scene intently, possibly not noticing the fact that there is an ad directly in fornt of them. This technique is questionable, yet widely used. Another example of how advertising is everywhere is that of ads on the street: |

This concept of advertising probably began when newspapers moved away from being sponsered by political groups and needed a new form of sponsorship. The realitonship between news and advertsiers/ marketing grew because they both thrived on one another; newspapers could not be published wihtout money and advertisers could not market their products without exposure. |

This shows an example of a newspaper ad form 1956- with lots of text and images of an attractive person using the product. This trend continues even into present day, although now it is more likely that ads are based on images. |
