Ducks, swans, geese or any other Large water fowl should not be introduced to an ornamental pond.  These birds will eat and disfigure all aquatic plants.  They will also muddy and foul the water with their waste, while leaving unpleasant reminders of their occupation in your pond.

Egrets are wading birds and ornamental garden ponds are often too deep for them to wade into.  If the pond is an out of ground one,  it will be easy for birds to walk about the side and spear the fish.
King fishers the great blue heron are all beautiful bird eith a hearty appetite for fish.
