Am taking courses in computer at adult ed in San Diego Community College. They are free and I was overwhelmed by cost of books at Junior College (tried taking Office 97 all in one semester) self taught with a very hard to follow book which cost $56dollars and was obsolete end of term. Finally got a computer fast enough and enough memory to go with Windows 98. So, after starting on Word(advanced certification) instructor in room helping folks taking all kinds of courses (Excell, Word, Access, WP, ) found the books great for learning alt ough definite benefit to teacher to bail you out. Most problems were errors in book or file management problems(mine).I knew little about Windows file management being without a computer from Win.3.1 to Win98 , missed 95. Got behind but kept using Compuse ve, email, user groups, etc. The courses also offered intro to Front Page, Intro to Internet, Night: Dreamweaver, Adobe Illustrator, and Flash 4. Oh, and on Fridays five hours of Adobe Photoshop. So , I have learned a whole lot of things in last six months but am master of none. I was looking for insight into how to start a web page. I got motivated in school because Front Page was so intuitive. Teacher went quite fast and limited resources, we copied everythring in class from the net. I usually fell behind everyone looking for f les, uploading , getting knocked off network, etc. I am seesm like: always late, unorganized. But trying. Dreamweaver was so cool, I thought I actually bought a student copy. But the teacher was into expecting her students to be web designers who were moving up to Dreamweaver. Here I was didn't know how to copy files from her Z drive to my local folder. I am otally lost on their explanation of how to set up a site. I did the tutorial and the class. Short sites with links, etc. But I have not made one page yet. Thought if I'd read some regular folks pages instead of swimming with sharks I would get inspired. I got a kick out of your Friends page. I recently broke off with a long time friend turned foe (I no longer have my thin, healthy body and great paying nurs ng job) So blonds are better for him. And if I have a page> I will have no friends either. I was big into hiking, backpacking, peakbagging, joined three climbing groups, but can't physically keep up or afford to Jeep trips to Northern Nevada, Mexico, Arizona etc. which kept me out hiking past ten years. No friends now. Now I just read, study computer books, finding good deals on internet for books at half.com (like Classroom in book even student rate was $36 in San Diego, getting them for 11-14 dollars now. Have to wait till they appear, but helps. I buy alot of books. haven't any on HTLM because teacher said so much is free on internet. I did buy the Dreamweaver3 Bible by Lowry which is enough for me to write killer web sites for Pepsi. I can't even get photoalbum to load. The photos are supposed to be in same file as destination. I am using C:Sites/my_site/my_photos as my file. But, I can't seem to copy the photos to the file. Well, thanks for having a Web site.
