Hopes for a playoff tie breaker vanished for Oakville as they lost 7 - 0 to provincial rival, Brampton Blazers. Brampton's win forces a tie breaker with Les Rebelles of Quebec for a double life position in the playoff round. Jen Bartlett of the Blazers retired 15 of 16 batters including the last 14 Angels to record a five inning one-hitter. Hailey Clark, the Blazer left fielder, led the offensive charge with three hits including a 4th inning triple. Cindy Eadie and Tiffany Patteson added two hits apiece for Brampton.

The Whitby Eagles earned 2nd place and two playoff lives in the Blue Pool with a 5 - 0 win over the Calgary 76'ers. Calgary's faint playoff hopes were extinguished with the loss. Holly Harris of the Eagles was in complete control as she pitched a three hit shutout, issuing one walk and fanning 10 76'ers batters. Whitby was paced by Rachel Schill, Jacquie Edwards, and Erica Elijah with two hits apiece.

White Rock secured at least a tie breaker for a single life with a solid 9 - 3 win over Sherwood Park. The loss eliminated the Belles from play off contention. Right fielder Ali Caviglia was the main offensive spark for the Renegades with three hits and three RBI. Megan MacKenzie, Colleen Elden and Janelle Austrom contributed two hits each as the Renegades pounded a total of 15 hits. Megan Mackenzie pitched five innings allowing three hits and a walk to record the win. Cindy Mohn had a double and a single for the Belles.

The Renegades of Calgary broke open a close game with four runs in the 5th inning to beat Central Region 8 - 1. Calgary is now playoff bound with a 4th place finish in the Red Pool. Four players contributed to the Renegade attack, including Sheena Lawrick, Shannon Teare, Meagan Cronin and Stacey Johnson. Kirsten Carriere went the full six innings giving up two hits and two walks credited with the win. |
