Here are a few questions that I asked Laryalee about herself.

Thanks Laryalee!!

Where were you born?

Born in British Columbia, lived there all my 60 years
until my recent move to Alberta. Now a widow; have five
children and 9 grandchildren.

Where do you get your inspiration for your poetry?

I honestly wish I knew, LOL!  Sometimes a certain scene/event
will transpire, like a really great sunset or an emotional upheaval.
Other times weird ideas pop into mind ("What color is peace?
How do thoughts travel?" etc.)

How long have you been writing poetry?

Wrote as a young girl, then during my young parenting years
I tried some song writing. My serious efforts began recently when
I was a caregiver for two years before my husband died.

Do you believe that poetry or any writing can be a good form of therapy?

Absolutely. Expressing your feelings is always beneficial,
even if it's just putting them down in a personal journal.

Do you have a favorite poem of your own, or by another poet?

Each poem I write is my favorite at the time I'm working on it. Then it's relegated to the 'done' pile, and I prepare for the next flash, jab or nudge of inspiration, *G*.
Favorite poet is Rudyard Kipling - his poem When Earth's Last
Picture is Painted is on my website..

What words of wisdom would you offer someone who wanted to write poetry but didn't have enough confidence to do so?

Just go for it!  Toss words together....jot down feelings, impressions.
It should be fun! Try some exercises: how many ways can you describe
a river, the sky?  What does anger look like?  Use your Thesaurus!
