Arise from you grave master . . . So a Belmont can kill you - Again!
Well there's my humer again.  This screen shot is for a castlevania game that has just been released!  It is called "Castlevania Chronicals".  The game what alot belives as a remake of the first one released on the Nintendo and Konami just took advantage of the X6800 capabilaties and added new levels.

June 24th 2002 I made a review of Castlevania Harmony of Dissonsance (hope that is spelled right) since I found a rom of the game over the net.  Not as good as Cycle of the Moon but still enjoyable.  Read if
here.

The game will feature modes of difficulty.  The hardest mode will have the original graphice as the other easier mode will be "arranged" or updated.  Of course I will be getting the game on Friday (oh well, I will just have to wait a little longer before I get "Oracle of Seasons")

If you go to HERE you will see some media of the movies.  In the one where you play level one in "arranged mode" look at that eye folowing you in the window, and doesn't those paintings look familiar?  And another note, in the "arranged version" you will see a short sword equipped on the guy.  You don't get to use a sword as far as I know.  The review is still in the process of compleation.  You should get this game for it has the original feeling of Castlevania.  And how difficult the originals really are.

Another thing is that when the Castlevania series first came out.  Belmont was originally "Belmondo"  I am glad that they chose "Belmont" for "Belmondo" sounds Italian and this game takes place in Transylvania, not Italy.
Well my little story about Castlevania.

I was about in third grade when I was at my cousin's graduation party.  I didn't care for the "adult talk" so I went into his room and I saw this castlevania game for his nintendo -well after all the blowing in the cartridge and hitting the reset butten for several minutes untill it worked- (oringinal nintendo owners would understand this) I realy got into the game.  I made it up to the second level and when I finally bet Medusa--my dad told me it's time to go home, he allways had this type of bad timeing.  So I wasn't able to continue the game.  I didn't think to much about it untill I found out that he sold his nintendo and the game was also sold.  I didn't even have a NES to get the game.

In about a year in a half (christmas) I got a nintendo and wanted the game---well that's when I found out is was popular, I't was always sold out.  And instead I bought Super Mario 2.

One day at a fireds house I saw he was playing Castlevania 3.  So I rented that and got pretty far.  To the mud level.  And I was lucky that the blizzard of '93 hit and the store was closed HA HA!

Then I got a Sega Genisis.  And I rented Castlevania Bloodlines.  I still remeber beating the Count Dracula for the first time, that was the first castlevania game I have ever beaten.  And for the first time I watched the castle crumble.

This is the castlevania game that I have:

Castlevania one (Original) Beaten only with game genie

Castlevania two (NES) beaten quite quickly -will get a walkthew posted for this one-

Castlevania three (NES) beaten without game genie that was kinda tough

Super Castlevania 4 (SNES) the second castlevania game I bet

Dracula X (SNES) the third one that I bet

Castlevania Symphony of the Night (psx) the fifth on that I bet

Castlevania 64

Catlevania 64 (Legasy of Darkness)

Castlevania Adventure (game boy) never bet, got sick of it by the last level

Castlevania II Belmonts Revenge to kill dracula you must learn his exact moves -not that fun-

Castlevania Legens (game boy) the best game for the game boy

The "Cancled Castlevania games"

Castlevania Ressurection (DreamCast)
Castle Quest!
Description: The musci confilcted with my sound card until I chaged the file a bit.  If that happens just E-mail the person who made it an he will tell you how to fix it.  Most of the musci is from other Castlevania Games.  From the NES and Game Boy.

Game Play: Like the game boy castlevania games, you get hit, your chain wip returns to a leather whip.  (That should be changed)
The game controlls are good.  I suggest you go to options and use "Z" and "X" keys or keys that are righ next to each other for the jumps.  And space bar for the special item.  The first level boss is the hardest so far and the grim reaper is a joke, but looks neat.

Looks: Well I could cream it here but it is ment to have the look of NES games.  8-bit.  So the graphics I must say are neat, there are a few flaws but there may be a patch.  Also keep in mind that it is a free game made by a fan.

Story: The ususal, defeat Dracula's hordes and kill Dracula---again!

Interest: Well the music kills most of the interst.  I tired to have other music playing to drown out the awful noise but no success.  The Sound Effects are good.

Why Shoul I Download this game then?

The game is like the original Nintendo games.  The main background is from Castlevania II but there are enemies from all the NES castlevania games there..  It is worth a look at.  It is a zip file so download the winzip trial version and use the "Wizard" to unzip it.  If you don't wan't to buy winzip then deleat it in a few days.

Score: 1-10 (10 being greatest)

(Drum Roll) 9 --reasons.  Could have more weapons!  But the game I liked.
Castlevania NES Remake (Untitled)
Read this before my report: I will basically crusify this game due to the fact that I have the original Castlevania for Nintedo.  If you don't have the Original Castlevania then I suggest that you download the game and try it to see what the levels were like.
Description: The remake of Origianl Castlevania.

Game Play---Absoulutly
HORRIBLE! In the original version I can easily get past the first boss (Big Bat) I had a game over and still couldn't beat him.  When I did beat him I was nearly dead.

Game Goes S - L - O - W very S - - L - - O - - W!  You cant have good timed hits in this game.  I couldn't kill the dogs in the first level.

Graphics: They are good but you think that the guy who made this would use some of the graphics from Castlevania Bloodlines.  (Level one from th ofiginal is in castlevania bloolines)

Story: Kill Dracula

Interest: Well if you never played the Origainal you won't mind the poor game play you may enjoy it.  It is level 3 (when released) that you shouldn't even try to play it.  You may have success with level 2 but chances are that you will pund on the key board in level 3.

Why Shoul I download the game? If you never played the original Castlevania (Levels 1 threw 3 at least) then you can download it.  You don't need an emulator.  If you have the Origianl and it still works then don't waste you time.  The music of Level one is playing now and it is very good.  Well when I download and play level 2 I will post the results.  If the controlls are changed and work better then it will go up ot a "9" average on the scale.

Score 1-10 (10 greatest)

(drum roll) 7--reasons  graphics in level one (where you enter the basement) don't look like the game.  Poor controlls.
Porfessionally made games by Konami
Castlevania one: Score is a 9 - it gets annoying at some spots.

Castlevania two: Score is an 8 - story line leaves you "hanging" and to much "find out by trial and error"

Castlevania three: Score is a 9 - some of the music is good, rest is bad.  Best Castlevania for NES

CV: 4: Score is a 10 - there isn't any thing wrong with this game

Dracula X Score is a 9 - great music, too short of a game.

Symphony of the Night: Score 10+ You play as Alucard (Name is Dracula spelled back wards) and roam threw the castle.  If you find out the "true evil" anothe castle formes called the Invereted Castle (up side down).  And the game is nice and gorey as all hell.

CV 64 Score is an 8 - the game "fog" really put a steak threw this game.  Good voice covers though.

CV 64 Legasy of Darkness.  Score: 8  Several more Levels and Several years before CV 64.  The fog is back but a little better.  This is more like a "patch" for CV 64.  The first boss is harder then Dracula's first Form talk about a bad mistake!

Castlevania Ressurection.  Score: n/a It is a shame I could only grade the screen shots.  The game has been canceled.  Please visit the castlevania dungeon for more information.  Also send a letter to Konami telling them to re-consider their rather stupid decision.

Castlevania Adventure: (game boy) Score 3 this is a castlevania game?  More like an insult!

Castlevania 2 Belmont's Revenge. (game boy) Score 7 well this is better.  Has more levels and a story line.  Could have a better Dracula Fight that you don't have to know his evey move.  Could have the Count a little Easier so you can actually enjoy it.

Castlevania Legends. (game boy) Score 9 Well this is the best Castlevania game for gameboy.  It has no weapons like axes or knives but you use spell instead!  And several different endings.  Could have better backgrounds and move a little faster.

Castlevania Cycle of the Moon: It is a smaller version of Symphony of the Night in some ways.  There isn't much with powerups and weapons like in Casltevania Symphony of the Night.  And I find it more challenging.  Also there isn't that many different tunes.  There are about 12 different songs in the whole game.  And about two of them are new.  Some of the songs include the theam song of Castlevania one (modified and quicker beat) The song that was in the Atlantis level in Bloodlines and in the Art Tower from Castlevania 64.  That are some examples.  There is also "Dance of Illusions" the dracula battle song from Castlevania Rondo of Blood, Dracula X, SotN, 64.  But it is a poor version.  Level one and the Machiene Tower are new songs.

The only weapon you get is the whip.  Which threw useing cards can turn in to a sword, sluge hammer, or make the whip longer.  You can also get familiers but most of them are next to useless.  There are also plenty of new enemies in the game.

Score: 7~~reasons.  The game gets boreing with excessive game play and you find your self constantly leveling up.  Not enough new music in the game.

Out of all of the Castlevania games released in the U.S.  Castlevania Symphony of the Night is yet still the best Castlevania Game.  The only game that would have beaten that was Ressurection.  That had alot of potential but they cancelled it instead.
This is the first level.  When I saw this screen shot at first I didn't recognise that it was the first level.  Also note that the windows in the background are not as bad as they appear in the game it self.
There isn't anything here on DarkShadows yet, after Siege is Compleat then I will work on that.  Also if you really want to learn of the show I suggest you be carefull.  There are alot of crazy people who are just too darn nuts about the show.  The show is good but not good enough to name you children Quentin and Amy --- I'm sorry.  When I set up the links page there will not be any of those crazy people on the DarkShadows link page.  And if there are links on that persons page that leads to a crazy person's page there will be a warning.  Most of these crazy people are from the 60's and . . . well enough said.
Music is from Castlevania NES remake.
You don't need an Emulator, just download the game (from castlevania dungeon) and play it.
So Lockey about these Emulators....
Ok on the eumlators...

Some work fine, some don't.  And the same with a rom.

Rom: this is the actual game.  Like Castlevania III etc.

Emulator: this is the program that will run the game.  There are differet emulators suck as nes, snes, N64, psx, etc,

And another thing, unless you have ALOT of time, don't even think of makeing an emulator.  And there are GBA emulators out now but they are really buggy so don't mess with an emulator that is from a system that is atleast 5 years old.  (by then the emulators should be working.

They can be found anywhere so it isn't worth makeing one youself.  Just go to go.com or alltheweb.com and search for one.  All the web is one of the best search engine also try Yahoo or msn.com.

And most if not all are free
.
Well this is the map of Castlevania X for SNES.
Level one.
Level Two
Level Three
Level 4a
Level 4
Level 5
Level 6
Level 5a
The moon this is no level, it's just there...
Where this map came from
Dracula--the final guy
and no, he isn't a level floating in the air!
Level 7: Final Stage is in the woods for when you begin the level you SEE the castle so there is some other castle in the game.  The woods is to the right of the clock tower.
Level one is the burning town.

Level two it the bridge and into the castle

Level three is inside the castle -- fall into a pit and you enter level 4a you also get a "key" at the end of the level.

Level 4a is the underground cemetary also known as the catacombs.

Level 4 is the dungeon.  You need the key to save Maria a prisoner and to unlock another door that leads to the submerged temple.

Level 5a is the submerged temple--fall in the water and you will die-- the second prisoner is here.  She is hidden in a samall room.  You should see water pouring out a wall, hit that with you whip to stop it and the water will drain.  You will then find her hidden in a room down there.

Level 6 is the clock tower -- here you must kill the grim reaper!  Or a skull if you don't save the prisoners (leads to bad ending)

Level 7 is where you fight dracula it is a rather a short level.  But draula isn't that easy!
I got most of them off of Napster (who sad to say finally died due to greedy selfish record companys) so now I get them off of www.kazaa.com or AudoGalaxy who is better then Napster (small download) in the KaZaA statement there is talk of fee's, so far I haven't had to pay anything but you may later on have to pay.
At my school they have this Websense program that blocks MP3's and webpates well if you change the file format into a zip file or something like Castlevania.mp3.001 you should be able to get them threw.  (the .001 is a file name if you split the file, if you just change it like that the file won't really be split it will just look that way and should get threw and web page blocking program.)

As of now at my school I have over 70 MP3's (I use a thing called
znail that I have been sending my MP3's to but there is no way to "share" them with that.  I have about 300+MB used up on my school computer (Websence sure is doing  their job of blocking MP3's...aren't they?)

They range from an old musci group called Abba, 3 Doors Down, Baha Men (yes it is Who Let the Dogs Out?) Castlevania (like you haven't guessed, there are some heavy metal remixes that I have there) Legend of Zelda, Smurfs (ok I need to get a good laugh at times at school and tick off a few people when I blast that song) Then there is the Oompa Loompa songs from WillyWonka and the Chocolate Factory (They make me laugh so their for my personal use) Then Skies of Arcadia Golden Axe and Banjo Kazooie so I have a good variety of musci and I'm still a downloading and sending.  It keeps the day from being boreing.   I have over 2 hourse of Castlevania MP3's.  About a half hour of Skies of Arcadia MP3's.  Plus the others.

Yahoo brief case is sort of working...all exept 5MB of my space can be used up.

Bragging rights, I have the first brick background from the GBA castlevania game.  The bricks are found in the Auditorium Room.  Feel free to use this background on your page (just plase link to my page)
June 24th 2002 was the last time this page was worked on.
Castlevania News Page
The Castlevania MP3's are not here yet but hopefully will be here in a month or two.  They were originally at Yahoo! Briefcase but that is all messed up (you can't download the files) so I am looking for a more stable storage place for them.
