The Confession Part III Revelations |
Old Ben woke up in pain in the middle of the day. The infection on his leg was getting worse. He needs to get some medial attention for his leg or the infection will get bad enough that he will lose the leg, and eventrually die, but with the Leopard Clan surrounding the barn he couldn't even attempt to leave or he would surley meet a grim fate. He slowly opened the trap door and saw two Ahoul Warriors in the barn. He closed the door. He saw some light coming threw from the floor. There was a small knot that had fellen out which let in enough light for him to continue to write. I had returned to the village again. It was around June. There was a festival in honor of the Lady of Fire. I had not realized this at first. I saw primatively made carts of meats well pepaired for celebration, that's all those primative creatures had. There were also clay jars which had wine. I asked, what looked like a merchant, "what, may I ask is going on?" "Why we are celebrating the day when the Lady of Fire burned all those that were evil!" said the merchant. "She even burned down their evil town. And the land was cleansed for us to live here." he continued. I knew well enough that the story has been twisted over time. Since it was her children who set fire to the town. I left the merchant and walked around the town. That's when I saw a person wearing a human made robe. I'm sure that it was Overon, but at the time I didn't know this. I followed him. He went into the temple. The elite guards didn't let me enter but Overon could just walk on in. I ran around the side and looked threw one of the openings in the stone wall. I saw him enter a secret passage way. I didn't see how he had opened it but he knew about it. "That must be the general Mithras told me about but who is he?" I silently whispered to myself. Then I was pulled by the arm. It was the Clan Leader. "What have you here, say did you hear the one about the Scout the Shaman and the Warrior in the...ha ha ha..." he was obviously drunk and was babbling some sort of joke. I was able to get away from him when he collapsed on the ground and started laughing to himself like some sort of fool. After an hour of freely walking the streets of the village I saw a procession up the mountain. I had not knowen how many villagers there were until now. Thousands of them! All those deformed bests. And they were so well hidden from us?... An Ahoul child grabbed me by the arm and said, "are you coming to meet the Lady of Fire? Well come on, come.....ON! as he pulled me with all his strength." Well all my plans to convert them to our religion was about to come to an abrupt end. We had walked up the mountain and there was a crater, like in a volcano, around it were stone benches that were around the crater which formed a circle. In the middle of the crater, suspended by thick ropes, was a wooden platform. And under that platform was boiling Lava. In all my life I had never heard of a volcano in these parts. Then the ceremony began. There was a rope bridge that was attached to the platform and the side of the crater. A small calf was drug across the bridge. The animal was obviously afraid of heights. They took the calf and tied it to a post. Some kind of oil was poured on it. And they set it on fire. I still, at night hear that animal scream in pain as it burned to death. After that animal burned, the Lady of Fire appeared. A huge piller of fire was created in the middle of the wooden platform. And out walked the Lady of Fire. Mithras and the Shamen kneeled before her. The Ahoul all cheered and threw rice on the platform. This Lady of Fire had a human figure, she wore a cloak which was on fire. She was blond and would make the perfect mate. It would have been a warriors dream to have a wife that beautifull. I must confess that I was attracted to her. She was so beautiful looking, she looked exactly like the painting in the temple. Then I realized that if they can see their god then they will never be converted to our religion. Several Ahoul, who were well intoxicated, tried to jump on the platform but fell down into the Lava. Their screams echoed as the fell. The Lady of Fire then tried to speek but couldn't due to the Ahoul shouting and screaming. Mithras then unleashed a fireball which killed an Ahoul whom fell down the crator and into the lava below. He then shouted, "Silence when the Lady speaks! Or the next fire thrown will be from her!" How obediant they were, when they feared this thing. I had my doubts, but for an allience, went along with this whole thing. She then spoke about a vision. "There shall be a war between you and Miren. I will aid you in the war. I will keep your fire burning strong! When you defeat them you are to go to their village and kill every women and child. Not one is to escape! If they do escape then that tribe will grow into a more powerful tribe and in several generations our tribe will be destroyed for they will have several other gods who will take pity on them slay me. Miren is to be brought to me and to be punished!" She then walked into the pillar of fire and that pillar of fire slowly vanished. I needless to say, had chills running down my back. Mithras approached me, "if you expect and alliance with us then I expect you to aid us in the war, bring all the men you can to slay Miren's tribe!" "Sha'Mithras, I can't have any men aid you." I protested. "Why not? If you expect an alliance with us, then you are to aid us in the war. Betray me and I will destroy your whole tribe! Every one in you tribe shall die!" "We have just come back from war, there isn't any men to spare. That is why my visits have been brief." "Well you at least you are to aid us. The army shall attack in exactly three of your weeks. I am much closer to the Lady of Fire and I know more then the villagers. If the villagers only had knowledge of the attack being this soon they would run like cowards!" "I will, alone, aid you. Perhaps I can sneak around and attack only their Shaman." "Fine Idea, I haven't got your name..." "I am known as Old Ben." "Well... Old Ben, in three weeks..." Mithras walked off. I had no choice but to aid them in the comeing war. I was then pondering about the real god, for I was impressed with the Lady of Fire. "Is the Lady of Fire God? Or is she a hoax?" I said as I left the village." I decided to go into Oriam and read up more on the village that burned. I think that it's name was LeonardsVille that was destroyed. I was still shocked that I was to aid in a war. And even more shocked at my self that I lied to what I thought were to be future ally's. I wasn't thinking and I noticed Genreal Overon in the woods. His face was filthy and it looked like he tried to rub the dirt off. "Well it looks like we meet again!" I yelled. I was a good distance from the Ahoul village not to have realyzed that he knew about it. I just didn't think! Anyway he replied, in a startled manner. "Oh, It's . . . uh . . . you from, let me see now, Oriam! Yes we met in Oriam did we not sir?" I replyed in a friendly manner. "Yes it was in Oriam that we had first met, I had mistaken you for a writer of some sort." Well Overon chuckled a bit and said, "Ah, yeh! You did! Well I would make an awful journalist, I'm sure that you seen my sloppy hand. I learned to write on my own, I did a lot on my own, even leared another language on my own!" "Another language on your own! How impressive. May I know the toungue?" "It is called..um...Hunan....yes it is the Hunan language. Well I really can't spair any time you see, my horse was startled by on of those damn giant spiders. It really wasn't a threat to the animal, all it had to do was walk on it and it be dead." "Well when I was a child I had heard that the lizard people cared for them, for some reason" "Well, who or what cares for them isn't the matter. I must get to see Genreal Roth, some important business I'm afraid. Uh, you seem as if you are familliear to these parts, which way to the Capitol of Oriam?" "Well, Genreal Overon. I'm going to stop at Montergerm first then . . ." He then rudely interrupted. "I need to get there NOW! I can't go to Montergerm. Would you kindly point the direction, if it wasn't for me chaseing after a damned horse and getting lost I wouldn't have bothered you!" "If you weren't a general I would drag you to Montergerm and have you get to the Capitol of Oriam from there, but since you are a general I will forget you attitued problem and Castle Oriam is over that way. You will end up at the Eastern gate. Good day, Genreal." I hurried off as Overon mumbled something, I was too tired and upset to even notice that those smudge marks were Ahoul face paint. When I had reached Montergerm it was already dark when I got my room I sat up a while and thought about who could that other human be. Someing from the Seven Kingdomes knows of the Ahoul for five years. It was then that I realized that it had to be Overon. Genreal Overon said that he learned of a new language on his own. And it was like he forgot the name of it. I saw his so called sloppy hand, It must be the Leopards handwriteing. And why else would he be in the woods? Well I went to bed at least knowing who the other man was. I had not knowen that the plot to destory Avalon was already in progress. It would be only several months when the war would start. I am so sorry..... Old Ben closed the book and leans on a pile of rubble. He listens to the birds and starts to fall asleep as a tear runs down his face. The end of part thee. Ready for part 4??? |
