Day 241 - Day 375
Day 241  (the next day)
Finally find the mutants – it’s a band of 23.  It’s a tough battle, but we manage to kill them all.  Nivak cuts the ears off all of the slain mutants and adds them to a collection he already has in a pouch.  It’s got something to do with his almost being killed by mutants.  He’s an odd one.

Day 244
(3 days later)
Have taken up lodgings at the flophouse in Marienburg again.  Nivak will be laid up for the next 3 months recovering from his injuries.  The rest of us are able to get our old jobs back.  This will pay for our lodgings and some additional training.

Day 340
(3 months later)
Caradryan decides to become a scribe.

Day 341
(the next day)
The party cannot decide whether to head out to the Empire or stay in Bretonnia – the vote is tied.  Nivak suggests we stick around here and take another vote after the next adventure – it seems like the most logical decision so we all agree.  The town constable gives us a job finding out what has been causing the peasant disappearances from the poor quarter.  The pay is 75 gold which we sorely need as our party has grown.

Day 342 (the next day)
That night:  Ilmarian takes the bait position as a bum on the street.  Nivak watches him from across the street.  The rest of us watch from further away.  Nothing happens.

Day 343 (the next day)
Caradryan and Kalikyn gather eyewitness accounts of the disappearances from the other peasants.  The rest of us stay at the flophouse guarding our gear (we moved to a flophouse in the poor quarter yesterday and our belongings are no longer safe).  That night:  Nothing happens again, so Ilmarian moves to another alleyway.

Day 346 (3 days later)
That night:  Ilmarian is kidnapped into the sewers – we follow.  After failing a charge on two human guards, all of us (except Caradryan) fall into a hay-filled pit about 20 feet down.  Thankfully there are no injuries from the fall, but the guards we were chasing above throw torches into the pit, which forces us down a corridor.  Nivak lassos himself onto Caradryan and pulls himself out of the pit.  The rest of us follow the corridor – it opens into a much larger room where all sorts of evil await us.  There are about 12-15 hooded creatures (cultists?), three spearmen, a swordsman, and a sorcerer.  Far in the back of the room we see some makeshift cages holding small children and Ilmarian tied up on some sort of wheeled death contraption.  We charge and engage in battle – I get First Blood.  Caradryan and Nivak join us as soon as the fire in the pit dies down.  The sorcerer enchants the children and releases two of them from their cages before Caradryan is able to engage him.  It is a horrible battle and it seems as though we are not going to make it at several points.  Kalikyn and Orvin are both slain – this sends me into a frenzy and we are able to gain the upper hand.  It’s unfortunate, but we are forced to kill all of the children – they have been marked with Chaos.  The family grieves for Kalikyn.  His death is a great blow to us – I do not think we will ever fully recover.
Battle Records: Lillay = First Blood, 3 kills in 1 turn.  Most Insanity Points in one battle (to date):  Caradryan  (16 which results in alcoholism & animosity towards ogres).

Day 347
(the next day)
Took a vote again to decide on our next course of action.  All (except Nivak) are in favor of trying our luck in Altdorf.  And again, all (except Nivak) go to the Merchant’s Guild to find work on a caravan headed in that direction.  I get the impression that he is a bit of a loner, but then again that may be because he is the only human in a group of elves.

Day 349 (2 days later)
Caravan to Altdorf heads out.

Day 359 (10 days later)
Caravan attacked by mutant horde of about 50-100.  I don’t know the exact number because we are luckily not on the front lines this time!  The 40 mercs that are accompanying us take the brunt of the attack, although a few mutants do filter through.  Nivak collects as many mutant ears as he can.

Day 364 (5 days later)
Nothing exciting to report.  I think this is perhaps the most peaceful caravan trip we’ve been on!

Day 375
(11 days later)
Arrive in Altdorf.  This is by far the most magnificent city I have ever seen!  Even the flophouses are not so bad here!
