The Silence
Forever am I doomed to sit here in this place,
With you photogenic face,
Forever scarred upon my heart?
Will my sighs always linger
Like you touch upon my fingers?
The silence is so loud.
It screams the need of company,
And you are the only one wanted.
Shall I close my eyes forever
And come to grips that we may never be
Even close to the way we were before.
Though I'd give anything to be by your side,
I'm not yet ready to leave this place.
Please don't give up on me,
For I have never given up on you, or us.
My silence may be my largest hurdle,
But someday I will overcome,
And we will live together happily.
Forever I will rest by your side,
In you safe arms,
I can look into your eyes,
And tell you my world,
Down to every last detail.
And never wish my thoughts to the silence again.
