Here we are another Halloween night When all the kiddies dress up, and ready to fright Dressed up goblins, or pirate from a ship Sure hope they can fun, cause they're really hip Collecting candy, or money, what a treat I wonder do they count calories that they eat I sure miss those times when I could scare them instead When Cowboy dressed up as a man holding his head Remembering those nights when my sons would play Thinking of things to be on that frightful day Flashlight in hand to guide them; dressing up was fun These were the good time, their happiness begun Now we're living in the county you see No neighbors around, no need to dress up for me I sure miss those days, and all thru the night When children would come and give us some fright |

So if you have little ones come knocking on your door Give them the candy, or let them explore Leave a bucket of pennies there if you aren't free This sure gave them pleasure, and time for me No little ones around here, so I can't complain They'd come calling out to you in snow or rain With ghosts, or a princess , perhaps a witch or two They're just having fun like we used to do Be happy this night comes only once a year Our purses would be empty, nor could we give cheer The little ones dressed up, with perhaps Mom or Dad It's the best night they've ever had Now don't be bad, as they call trick or treat The tricks the night before aren't very neat Should winter come early where you live Perhaps a hot cup of cocoa is what you should give |
