Remember

Please don’t give up

All the memories we share

Please don’t act like

You don’t care

Remember the campfires

And the burnt marsh mellows

The bathing suits we’ve had

Blues, greens, reds and yellows

Remember our mom’s wine coolers

We use to secretly drink

The diapers style life vests

That wouldn’t let us sink

Remember capture the flag

In the empty upper brook

The sexy campers

Who always took a second look

Remember the water balloons

That filled out our bikinis

The baby frogs we rescued

That were so tiny

Remember the plays

We use to make up and do

The times we played judge

And pretended to sue

Remember the inner tube rides

That went on forever

We would have competitions

To see who could hold on better

Remember the daily trips to Bojos

Chocolate, vanilla and cookie dough

Diving down to the bottom

And getting dirt to prove so

Remember the secret garden

And we were little spies

The monster up on the hill

With bright red eyes

Remember the hammock

That sat upon that hill

The bikes we used to ride

Into the lake for a thrill

Remember the songs

We knew line by line

Garth Brookes

Strawberry wine

So many memories

That we share together

We promise we would always be

Best friends forever

Through any stormy weather

But now the storm is upon us

And I see us growing apart

Were we really meant to be together

From the start?

Remember the good old days

When we had no worries, none

The days where we were best friends

And the sky was thick with sun
