AussieGDfan's Newbie Reaction
(thanks to AussieGdfan)

GraceDimitri fan striked, again.

Aussie: "Gdfan wanted me to email her with my "newbie" reactions to the 7 D's, so I had better move along and do that.  I was too sleepy last night to do them justice, and she wanted details!"
Aussie (later): "I doubt if she'll ask for more.  It was lucky I am so far away and she couldn't force me to discuss them last night - unlike you guys. My thoughts are not clear at 5am.  [which is when she emailed me, btw.]"
Aussie (to Sprouty, Re:Gdfan: "Hey, I like the sound of Gdfan - what other dirt does she have on you, hmmm?  "Forbidden Love" and a ballet dancer?  I doubt your innocence."

I totally agree that Mr Dimitri is by far his best work; when I watch I
never think "there's ES" - to me, Mr D is a real person.  I guess
that's a credit to his acting, or is it possibly just indicative of my Stoltz addiction?  Hmmm......

Grace was always my favourite character, so at first I just really
enjoyed watching her interact with someone who was finally worthy.  I agree with your comments about
AO - I didn't feel as connected to that one, although I did love the auditions.[Sprouty:Eh, Acting Out is one of my favorites.]  Also loved DTOR for the flirting discussion, and the way he looked and smiled at her then.  To me, that was the first time he REALLY looked at her. sigh.  I enjoyed that eppy from Lily's perspective too - trying to do the right thing by everyone and failing miserably.  I have SO been there! ["I'm not saying you won't get your hair mussed." Dr.Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb]

TL was probably the episode that started my GD obession; up until then I was never sure that there would be a GD story, although I had wondered.["It may seem to swoop down at you deliberately" The Birds] Ah......the wine scene - totally unexpected that he would bare his soul like that, and the way she looked and smiled at him over the paper cup - magical! ["Ah, sweet mystery of life at last you found it" Young Frankenstein] I think that Jin once said that his silences were as powerful as when he spoke, and I think that could be said for JW as well.. After all, the GD story took place as much in subtle looks as it did in words.

GSA was, simply put, brilliant IMHO.  To only mention the GD part for now though - I loved Grace in this one, she was so beautifully besotted, brave and embarrassing, all at once.  I think I felt every emotion she experienced! ["Rearrange your alliances." Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?] His weren't as easy to read; well not until the car scene.  Such a small scene, but so powerful.  [it didn't hurt that he looked gorgeous, either]  The almost-kiss was a total surprise, and just perfect.["It is obvious from your face that you knew the answer." Marathon Man]

Did we miss out on another GD eppy when the show was cancelled -
because to me there was something missing between
GSA & EITT.["Some people would pay a lot of money for that information" Micheal Corleone,The Godfather ] I mean, the book and inscription came totally out of the blue, don't you think?  Not that I didn't enjoy watching her receive them.  Again, I so felt for Grace throughout Eitt - the range of emotions she experienced in this one hour of tv was incredible.["You won't want conventional programming." Network]  His reactions to her were beautifully acted, especially the look on his face after the kiss. ["Well there's something you don't see everyday."Ghostbusters] I think that is my very favourite ES moment!  Their final scene was unsatisfactory - although I'm not sure how it should have been handled.["Make your move" Risky Business] What did you think?  Must mention Lily here - I loved that for once she did understand.

Watching the 7 episodes again has reminded me how much I miss this show; and not just the GD story.  Season 4 would have been wonderful, don't you think? So many possibilities!

Anyway, I'm sure you didn't expect such a long response to your
questions - bet you're sorry now!  So,have a great weekend, and bye for now.
1. When decanting wine, make sure that you tilt the paper cup, and pour
slowly so as not to "bruise" the fruit of the vine.

2. If drinking directly from the bottle, always hold it with your fingers
covering the label.
