If you are here, you must be curious. My name is Lou Hamilton and I reside within the Village of Wellington (metropolitan West Palm Beach area) in the State of Florida (USA). I am a staunch New Englander by birth, a Floridian by career design and a soon-to-be Tennessean by choice.

I was born and raised in the beautiful and pristine State of Maine and grew up in the greater metropolitan Portland area. I was fortunate enough to be able to escape city life and spent the majority of my New England summers visiting with family members on a couple of historically quaint Casco Bay "rocks" known as Chebeague Island and Cliff Island.

I am a retired career law enforcement officer and use the medium of the Internet as a form of relaxation. After fulfillng my six year military obligation, I began my full-time law enforcement career in 1968 with the Middletown (Connecticut) Police Department and continued to pursue my career goals with the Palm Beach County (Florida) Sheriff's Office. I held the rank of Detective Lieutenant and my last assignment was as Commander of the Organized Crime Bureau's Tactical Operations Unit. On January 31, 1998 (after nearly 30 years "on the job"), I attained my ultimate goal of surviving long enough to join the ranks of my former co-workers in what they always referred to as "real life after law enforcement". I had always scratched my noggin' thinking, "Huh? Just what does that mean?" .... NOW I KNOW! .... I am finally free of bureaucratic control over my private life and am once again enjoying many freedoms taken for granted by the average citizen! ... Ahhhhhhhhh, I had forgotten how good it feels!

The Hamiltons are in the process of moving to Tennessee and have been blessed with a small rental country home on Cobb Hollow Road in Moore County while the Wellington home is on the market. My eldest daughter and her husband will be soon blessing me with a second grandchild and I'll have to strive to make frequent visits to New Hampshire to do my "Grampy" thing. My youngest daughter (an EMT with American Medical Response and student at Palm Beach Community College's EMS Academy) has fled the nest. Once the transition is complete, it'll be "full steam ahead" with developing the family's retirement property in Lynchburg, Tennessee. Through the Grace of God, LIFE IS GOOD!!!
