This page is dedicated to all those who are missing through adoption.
I am a birthfather whose girlfriend from high school relinquished her first child in 1970,
into the arms of adoption.
While I continue to believe that adoption was the best choice at the time,
I have come to realize, through the births of 4 other sons,
that a part of me went away with that child, a piece of my soul that I pray to recover some day.
UPDATE: My long search is over!!!
I was contacted on May 20 by Tara, who had
begun searching that same day for her husband's biological parents.
My web presence paid off as she found the match within minutes.
Weeks passed as we attempted to determine whether or not her husband and I were indeed son and father.
Eventually we decided to submit to DNA testing to find out for sure.
(We used GeneTree and were very pleased with their service.)
On July 8, the test results arrived and confirmed the match.
We met face-to-face the next day. (He lives about 100 miles from me.)
On July 27, Dusty and his family were welcomed into the family
at a picnic attended by one of my other sons, my parents, 6 of my siblings,
and a slew of cousins - and Dusty's only biological niece.
We are having a great reunion.
Thanks to all who offered advice, support, help, and encouragement over the past 9 years.

Is there anyone in Watertown who would like to adopt a baby boy about four months old? A mother in this city came to the Salvation Army rooms a few days ago and told Commandant Wall that she had a baby boy in healthy condition that she would like to have placed in a good home. Since that time the Salvation Army officers have been trying to secure a good home for the youngster. Anyone who is desirous of adopting a child is asked to call at the Salvation Army. A person that cannot furnish good credentials will not be allowed to take the child.

My son has found me. He called late Thursday night and I was a little on guard, as some of you know I had a scam at one time pulled on me. I was afraid to believe it really was him. He faxed me some pictures on Friday. They didn't come out the greatest but when I got to the last one I knew it was him. He looks a lot like his BF and one of my other sons. The resemblance was amazing. He is going send in the paperwork for NYSAR. He knew information that I had not publicized about medical records. I know it's him I have no doubts. Now we will do the paperwork to confirm it. He wasn't adopted till he was 4 yrs old. And best of all he still is using his birth name except of course his birth last name, the AP decided he was too old to change it. Thursday was one of the only times he had searched. He was afraid of interfering or causing problems with my life. He also lived less than 5 miles from me most of his life, he also worked in a grocery store I had frequent. He now lives in Vegas which is so far away. He is talking about moving back to Rochester. They adopted him late in life. We'll be talking again soon I'm sure but for now it will be long distance relationship Everyone don't give up like I was so close to doing, I had felt we wouldn't never meet. When you least expect it.......it happens. Don't ever give up hope!!!!!

seen by a psychiatrist while in the hospital for depression but the notes say
that she was "throwing a fit" over having to give me up. She returned to
school for the 1969/1970 school year and repeated 10th grade. She and my bfather
began seeing each other again after returning to school...he in 12th grade,
she in 10th again. I was in the hospital for 4 days and believe I was born late
at night. Forcep delivery leaving some sort of hemotoma on my head. My
bfather's father was a high school graduate and owned his own business. My bmom's
mother did not finish high school and gave birth to my bmom when she was 16.
My bmom's father worked in a factory. My bmom had a sister who I assume was
younger than she. I know this is a lot of info, but can you update my
