Children In Need
We are a parent-run, non-profit organization advocating on behalf of the needs of children and youth who suffer from debilitating mental, emotional, and/or behavioral disorders.
There are very limited appropriate services available, and children are being "shipped out" to other provinces and states. Placed in motels, apartments, group-homes, foster-homes, and even juvenile jails as a result.
Our goal is to ensure that all childrens' rights to receive mental health services are being met, in their own province.
It is our hope that through advocacy, awareness, and early intervention, children and youth will receive vital services necessary to their recoveries, and be able to live happy, healthy, productive lives.
They say it takes a whole community to raise a child, todays' youth are tomorrows' future. Without these essential services our children are lost. If they have no future, than the adults' of today have no future either.....
