Your Views on Your Job
back to the Thought Police site
We understand the worries that you face.  Your job is unfulfilling, your boss is a jerk, you don't get paid enough... well, don't worry about it.  Complaining is the same as dissent... and you really don't want that, do you?  Imagine how you'd feel if one day you find out that all the toilet paper manufacturers got fed up with their jobs and quit.  You wouldn't have any toilet paper.  If you don't think that your job's important, reflect on the fact that you're not alone in your whining.  Probably a vast majority of people who do your job are just as dissatisfied and annoyed with it as you are.

You might want to consider it like this: if you don't like your job, what would you do instead of it?  It's common sense that you have to work somewhere; otherwise, the economy would fall apart.  There are no free rides.  So you have to work, but you don't like your current job... but the reason you're in your job is that it was decided that this job was what you were the best suited for.  If you're no good at your job, you'll do worse in everything else.  So you'd better get better at your current job, or risk Genetic Purification.  Once you've started down the Genetic Purity path, you'll have a job all right: the most menial, horrible, invisible tasks in our nation.

So do your job, and do it well.  Our nation was founded on the idea that everyone should take pride in what they do.  You might feel like nobody cares whether or not you get up in the morning, but it is the studious hours of plebs like you that keep the higher levels of our nation running.  That's right... if it wasn't for you lowly peons, the people above you wouldn't be above anybody, would they?

Take pride in your work.  You're making us feel better.
