| Many thank you's go out to all of M'aggie's fans. M'aggie became ill with varying symptoms, mainly with increasing macrophage levels in her blood work. After many months of testing, the primary diagnosis was the dry form of Feline Infectious Peritonitis. She fought a brave fight and lasted much longer than vets at Texas A&M University's Vet School thought she would. August 29th M'aggie started to lose her ability to walk and by Sept. 1st, it had progressed to the point that M'aggie could no longer walk, and could no longer use the litter box. That was the day I had to make the decision to euthanize her. M'aggie peacefully passed away 10:34am Sept. 1, 2007. We all miss her terribly. She was a fantastic kitty and a true embassador to the Devon Rex breed. I can never express in this media how much I loved M'aggie or the love and joy she brought to my life and my family, but others who have lost beloved pets understand how I feel. | After much research, I decided I wanted to adopt a Devon Rex. After months of searching online, contacting different local rescue organizations, I contacted Devon Rex Rescue League and they put me in contact with Carol at Texas Siamese Rescue, who happened to be fostering a Devon Rex. I adopted the Devon Rex in Austin, TX, December 29, 2006 and named her M'aggie. |

| M'aggie is a Devon Rex, a breed of cat that was started in 1959 in Devonshire, England. Devon Rexes are known for their short curly coats, triangular head, crazy whiskers and oh those BIG ears! Devons are jesters of the feline kingdom and for those who do not admire their looks, the Devons' antics and personality will surely win over their hearts. As many of the Giant Schnauzer owners who are visiting this site know, I lost my best friend, a Giant Schnauzer named Lucy on March 28, 2006. Lucy had only turned 6 years old two weeks prior to her passing away due to complications from a rare autoimmune cancer, systemic histiocytosis. You can learn more about Lucy's life and antics at The Isle Of Lucy. It took many months of healing before I was able to open my heart again, and I opened it to a feline version of the Giant. |
