| They canīt be many more talked about humanoids on the planet at this point than one Steve Strange - and it is he who,  with a few spondulicks behind him,  has transformed the lavatorial monument  formerly know as the Music Machine in North Londonīs Camden High Street into one of  Londonīs trendiest and most talked-about night-spotlets. I can recall the clubīs opening night, when various persons were clamouring for entry through its freshly painted gates. Certain cynics had more than a doubt as to its durability - just as some had made various similar statements about the entire New Romantic movement itself. Well, I can report that, on my recent visit, no less than 2.000 fun-seekers were grooving to the sound of one Rusty Eganīs high-tech disco system. The Palace is a very, very large place indeed and is of courious design : much like an ancient amphitheatre, complet with royal boxes. It has a massive dance floor, which is backed by three successive levels with bars and seating arrangements, where one can happily rest oneīs tired torso for a while - GAY NEWS - DECEMBER 1983 CAMDEN PALACE MENU  |
