Pronounced quiffs or swirls anywhere on the coat.

A high, off centre or open crest.

Parting of the coat

Long coat length (above 1.25cm)
Soft fur / coat; and

Flatness anywhere on the coat.
Knotted, chewed or unkept coats
Trimmed / cut coats; and
Lacking curls anywhere;
Extra rosettes (also a fault for the peruvian).
FOR THE TRI COLOURED AND BI COLOURED BREEDS
FOR THE MARKED BREEDS
Any roaning/mixing or brindling of two colours; and
Coloured patches being larger or smaller than the standard states.
Any one colour going around the whole body or half the body; and
Missing patches of colour on any side of the body.
FOR THE SATIN BREEDS
Lack of shine/satinisation; and
Coarse coat texture.
FOR THE SELF BREEDS
Foreign coloured hairs anywhere on the coat;

Dark pigment on the rims of the ears on light coloured breeds;
Fade in undercolour, lightness on stomach or uneven shades of colour; and

White toenails (except on whites);
FOR THE TICKED BREEDS
Uneven or long ticking anywhere on coat;

Eye circles or bonnet strings;

Light, dark or odd colored feet;
Wide or indistinct belly line; and

Patches of unticked hairs anywhere on the coat.
Each breed of cavy has to have a standard that is used as a guideline when exhibiting cavies.  In having that, there are some faults which are penalised according to how serious it is on the cavy.
