THE LONGHAIR GROUP
This group, as the name suggests, are those who have very long hair.

**NEW AND    IMPROVED
    FORMAT**
The hair on these breeds grows to an average of 12 inces (30cm), but can grow anywhere up to 20 inches (50cm).
The hair grows at an average length of one inch (3 cm) per month and needs to be looked after very strictly to avoid tangles and knots.
Longhaired cavies can be any colour.
To keep the coat to a show standard, exhibitors 'wrap' the coat daily to stop the hair flowing loose and to avoid woodchips and other foreign items getting caught in the coat.
The hair is regularly bathes, brushed and blowdried.
When a longhair is being kept for showing, it is generally kept on its own to prevent other cavies chewing its coat (a major fault), and when they are bred, their coats are generally cut short.
