The Dark of Night "What time does his plane get in?", Jason asked. "Umm…11:30. You going with me to pick him up?", Kari asked. "No. I think I’ll let you guys have some time alone.", he stated. "What? You mean I can have him all to myself? Why, Jason, what’s wrong with you?", she said with a laugh. "I just thought I’d give you an hour or so. You know, to get your ‘business’ taken care of before I steal him away.", he returned. "Well, aren’t you Mister Generous?", she popped off at him. Jason and Jeff had become really close friends. Anytime that Jeff came to Los Angeles to visit, they seemed to spend all of their time doing guy stuff and leaving Kari alone. Jason’s thought was that Kari got to see him a lot more, so when Jeff was in town, it was time for good old male bonding. It wouldn’t have been so bad if Shea had still been there. Kari missed her ever since Shea had taken a job as a make up artist for the WWF. But she was happy for her friend. She had a job that she liked and she and Matt had become a serious item. They were even talking marriage. She had already moved to Cameron leaving only Kari and Jason in the house. "What am I going to do if you ever move out?", Kari asked her roommate. "Move out? I’m never moving out.", he said laughing. "What if I get married?", she asked playfully. "I have to move out if you get married?", he asked teasing her. She smacked him in the back of the head as she made her way to the front door, "I’ll have him to you in a little bit, so you can start your weekend of bonding." Jason smiled at her as she closed the door behind herself. She stood at the terminal gate and fidgeted her hands. She always got nervous when she waited for him. They had been dating for three months. It was sort of tough on them as they didn’t get to see each other much - either he was on the road or she was working. But, they tried to make the best of the time they had. She was dreading the task of telling him her news. Blake had called her earlier in the day and told her that she was cast in the part that she had auditioned for. She was extremely excited, but at the same time she hated to leave Jeff. You see, the film was shooting in France. Her flight left out in four days and she would be gone for about four months. She hoped that he would understand. This role was her dream role. She was to play the next female immortal in the upcoming Highlander movie. It was going to be a very physical part so it was a good thing that she worked out everyday. What made the role even more interesting was that she would be playing opposite Adrian Paul. The writers for the movie decided to make the new movie based more on "Highlander: The Series" than the movies. She had been a big fan of the series when it was on television. Her eyes lit up and a smile crept across her face when she saw him. He scanned the corridor before finally spotting her. He walked over, dropped his bag and picked her up planting the biggest, juiciest kiss on her lips. He set her back down with a smile. "Wow! Miss me, did ya?", she asked. "You bet.", he said. "Where’s mine?", she heard a familiar voice call. She turned around to see Matt, Amy and Shea walking towards them. "Oh My Gosh!", she yelled and ran right past Matt to hug Shea. "Well….nice to see you too.", Matt griped. "I’m so glad you guys came.", Kari said releasing Shea from her death grip, "Even you Matt." She popped him in the head and said hello to Amy. "He gets a big fat kiss, she gets a bear hug and I get slapped in the back of the head. Go figure.", Matt complained with a sly grin. Kari hugged Matt and kissed him on the cheek apologetically, "Is that better?" "Much.", he replied with a hardy grin. They all grabbed their luggage and headed off to Kari’s house. Next Chapter ..*..
