JAPANESE PLANES

Mitsubishi Zeros participated in the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941. The Zero was one of the best and most heavily-used Japanese fighter planes during World War II (1939-1945).

Kawasaki Ki-45 was wide used for various missions. Designed for long escorts, was one of the first Japanes planes with selt-tightening tanks and protective armour. Very good at dive attacks, easy to fly and agile as one-engine construction was a hard opponent for Americans. Used versus planes (both fighting and kamikaze attacks against B-29) and ships, acted as real threat for Western vessels.

A metal low-wind monoplane construction with good achievements. Wide-used during the WW2, in the end served as a Kamikaze plane. The problem was, that D4Y1 was a two-seated plane, so men losses was twice as in case of one-man craft. In 1944 the Navy Air Fleet Command asked to reconstruct the D4Y1 to a special designed suicide plane, and Suisei Kei was then developed.
