When I made this run at 17.04 seconds, I had the RX-7 AFM adjusted at about 15 clicks counterclockwise from its original position and timing @ 14 Degrees BTDC. Before that I had it at about 9 clicks counterclockwise and was doing 17.6 sec. The only bad thing about it is that it is impossible to get Idle, so I had to keep my foot on the gas. I guess the only way to do this right is swaping the springs  installing the one from the Protege in the RX-7's Air Flow Meter. We'll see.

I'm trying to get into the mid 16's in the 1/4 mile...
How about Adjustable cam gears?.....mmm  interesting question...

After I finished swaping the spring in the AFM, I went back to the track and this time I could've done high 16's but my clucth started to splip, my best time that day was 17.04. the engine feels just fine with the new RX-7 air flow meter. By the way, the 96 Acura Integra had a better reaction time, but guess who got to the light first .... I could hear the guy shifting all the way to 8000 RPM I shifted @ 7000 on first and second and 6000 RPM on third to forth. I'm gonna have to get a better clutch too and hopefuly the headers will help to make the brake through the mid 16's...

This time I finally made i into the 16's, I still haven't changed the clutch yet, I'm waiting for that Christmas bonus so I can put a stronger clutch in there. I changed the spark plugs from Nipo Denso to NGK, and got rid off the A/C compressor, so the car is a little lighter the rest still the same, I should be getting my headder from Corksport (finally after 2 months) in two weeks from now.
Let's go to Protegeclub

The first time I went to the track I made the 1/4 mile in 17.6 sec @ 80 MPH in 3rd gear @ about 6000 rpm. I had my wife with me in the car and my tool box in the back. It was a lot of fun. Too bad I only got the chance to run only once, next time I'll go earlier and more light weight. I don't have much installed in the car yet, only a partial exhaust (muffler only, rest of pipe stock) and the RX-7 Air Flow Meter, I tuned mine at 0.9 volts at Idle with a voltmeter., it is running rich and makes the car run better but the big problem with this is the fumes coming out of the exhaust. It's just too much to drive it like that  on a daily basis. Probably I'll use it at the track only.
