Enter the Invincible Hero

Ground Zero Entertainment and the Wu-Tang Clan present to us, the grateful consumers, the epic Dragon Lee movie ENTER THE INVINCIBLE HERO on DVD. Is it worth our hard earned money? Read on suckers...

Picture quality It's obviously cropped widescreen to 4:3 fullscreen and sourced from an old VHS tape. There are a few bursts of static and rolls in the picture. If you've seen any Ground Zero DVD before you know what to expect...not a whole lot.

Sound quality

The audio is presented in Dolby 2.0, no major problems.

Meuns & Extras

The menus are static, but are bright and colorful. It's not that complicated, so getting around is easy.

The extras listed on the back of the case are a music video, photo gallery, bonus fight scenes and actor biographies. What extras are on the disc are a bonus fight scene with Casanova Wong, a Wu-Tang Clan music video, the RZA intro (which also plays at the start of the movie), and movie trailers for Gangstresses, Blazin' and the Kung Fu Classics line. That's great and all, at least they tried, more than most cheapie companies do, but there is no sign of the photo gallery or actor biographies that are listed on the case.

Packaging

Average artwork on the sleeve. The cover has a picture of the Wu-Tang Clan on the top with the "WU-TANG CLANS PRESENTS" banner at the top with a collage of Dragon Lee pictures in and around the large Wu-Tang "W" logo. It's actually a bit distracting, but at least someone put a little effort into it. The back gets much uglier with a synopsis and some screen shots.

Conclusion (or something)

I'm not sure why I even bother to write DVD reviews as I suck at them. Ground Zero's DVD are cheap for a reason, they mostly suck. They're taken from crappy VHS prints, but we keep buying them regardless. If you find this cheap, yeah I'd say pick it up. I doubt it'll ever see a Superbit release and the GZ is the only version available in North America (there is a R2 disc), so it's not like we got much of a choice.
