Islam - many inequalities, yet very easy to live by and very beautiful Judaism - shrouded in mystery and differs from very liberal to very conservative Asatru - I agree with its pagan beliefs, but many of its values and practices are too confined for my liking. Wicca - too often the rituals become a mindless routine. Wicca hides that the power of magick is only found inside the person, not in the ritual or deities invoked. beliefs are too specific and set upon the interpretations of fallible men. origins and traditions too uncertain. Lacks historical evidence to back up its claims. the religion itself is only about 50 years old. see Paganism. Hinduism/Vedism - caste system destructive and perpetuates suffering, beautiful mythology. Hedonism/LaVeyan Satanism - I am too existentialist to be a hedonist, and too altruistic to be a LaVeyan satanist, but I do have many areas of agreeance with the two. Vodoun {Voodoo, Vodou, etc.} - interesting, yet altogether eclectic and arbitrary. based upon catholic ritual magick, taking away much of its credibility as a pure religion. Santeria - same as Vodoun, origins in forgotten myths from immigrants and Catholicism Catholicism - it has beautiful artwork and mythology, though I have an infinite number of clashing views with all Christianity Satanism - not the evil "devil worship" it is known as, the cult that follows the philosophies of a man named Satan. philosophies very interesting, revolve partly around the idea that man should obey his primal nature and find pleasure in survival. Personal gain is a part of survival and therefore should be respected. something to that effect. Traditional Witchcraft - fascinating, yet much like Wicca, based on myths rather than practice and true connection with the universe. Some practices very much a part of my belief system though. Chaldean magick - very obscure and esoteric, but fascinating if you can find information on it.. Universalist/Unitarianism - interesting, yet unoriginal and flawed by the mesh of the religions it tries to unify and therefore lacks purity. Zen - makes very simple things far too complex, yet can be profoundly enlightening for the decicated. Sufism - If I believed in God, I would be a Sufi. Celestial Magick - fundamentally I disagree with this practice because it relies on deities and higher powers to influence the practitioner's will, displacing his innate ability to do so himself. The question of the existence of deities also arises in my mind; I have theorized that deities are merely personifications of energies in life that give the enrgies involved a face, so to speak, direction and focus during ritual. I have also heard the interesting theory that at one time deities did exist but since then have melted into one universal mirror for their manifestations. The cause of this is also very theoretical and subject to conjecture. However Celestial Magick does have much credit to its theories, and relates much to my own practices. Sikhism -
