True Love Conquers All - Chapter 25-26 Joey: Come in Jocelyn. ::Joey and Jocelyn step in to his living room.:: Jocelyn: Joey, when did he leave? Joey: His flight left about 3 hours ago. Jocelyn: So he should be getting there anytime. ::phone rings:: Joey: Hello? Justin: Oh my god Joey, is Jocelyn there? Joey: Yeah, she's sitting right here. Justin: Let me talk to her please. Joey: Alright. Jocelyn's it's Justin. ::hands phone to Jocelyn:: Jocelyn: What are you doing there? Justin: I wanted to ask you the same question. Jocelyn: Well can you get back here soon? Justin: I don't know. Let me call the airport and ask. I'll call you right back. Jocelyn: Okay. ::hangs up the phone:: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Five minutes later, the phone rings again. Jocelyn answers. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Justin: Jocelyn, I can't get back tonight. Jocelyn: What? Justin: There are no planes leaving until 5 in the morning. Jocelyn: There is nothing? Justin: Nothing. I'm sorry baby. Jocelyn: Is there any flights come to Wichita? I'll come back. Justin: There is nothing. I've tried everything. Jocelyn, I want you to do something tonight. Jocelyn: I'm not doing anything without you. Justin: You can't not do anything on Valentine's Day. Please do something. Jocelyn: I'll think about it, but you better get back here as soon as you can. Justin: I'll be there in the morning, I promise. Jocelyn: Okay, bye baby. Justin: Bye. ::hangs up phone:: Joey: What did he say? Jocelyn: The earliest flight doesn't leave until 5 tomorrow morning. He's not going to make it but he wants me to do something. I suppose that you are probably spending time with Ashley tonight, huh? Joey: No. Ashley called me today and said that she needs to sort her feelings out. She's going to spend time with Ron and make sure that she doesn't still have feelings for him. Jocelyn: This must really be tearing you apart, huh? Joey: Well, yeah, but I'd rather her know for sure of her feelings. So what are you doing tonight? Jocelyn: I don't know. Since you aren't going out with Ashley, do you want to do something with me? Joey: I'd love to. Let's go clubbin! We can grab a bite to eat first. Jocelyn: How did I know that you were going to suggest that? Joey: Sorry. We can do something else if you want. Jocelyn: Nope, I love clubbin, I just like giving you a hard time. ::smiles:: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- They went out that night to Joey's favorite restaurant, then to the local club. They returned back to Joey's house at about 1 am the next morning. Joey and Jocelyn decided to watch a movie, but they both fell asleep while watching it. Jocelyn woke the next morning to the smell of coffee boiling in the kitchen. She figured that it was Joey making the coffee, but he was still laying beside her. She got up and walked into the kitchen to see who was making the coffee. When the kitchen was in plain view, she recognized the curly head of hair that she had grown to love. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jocelyn: Justin! ::runs up to him and gives him the biggest hug she could:: Justin: Baby, I missed you soo much! Jocelyn: I missed you too! ::They kiss for a long time and Joey walks in.:: Joey: What's all the commotion out here? Justin: What's up Joey? ::smiles:: Jocelyn: Oh, wait right here! I have to get your Valentine's present. ::Runs to get the present and comes back.:: Jocelyn: Here! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jocelyn's present for Justin was a Tommy Hilfiger watch with Jocelyn's name on the band. Jocelyn's name was inscribed on the inside. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Justin: I love it. Thank you. Now you have to open yours. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Justin hands Jocelyn a box. She opens it. Inside the box is a large diamond ring with a silver band. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Justin: Now it's not an engagement ring or anything like that. Just consider it a promise ring. The promise that we will always be together. Jocelyn: Always. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jocelyn's new CD came out in April while her world tour was underway. The CD had more success than Jocelyn could had ever imagined. The CD sold almost 2 million copies in it's first week and over 15 million by the end of 2000. The success of the CD brought much attention to Jocelyn. Of course there were critics out there and everyone wanted to pull up some dirt on Jocelyn, but they could not find anything worth bringing up. In May 2000, Jocelyn threw herself the biggest "sweet 16" birthday party the entertainment business had seen in a long time. Celebrities such as Will Smith, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Carson Daly, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera and more attended the party. Of course the guys of 'N Sync and their families were there. The party was a blast and everyone was talking about it for a long time. At the beginning of June, Jocelyn was offered the lead in a movie destined to be a big hit. With her world tour out of the way in October, Jocelyn decided that she would accept the job and filming would begin at the end of October. The filming should be finished in March of 2001 and the movie was expected to be released at the beginning of May. Thanksgiving 2000 passed, as did Christmas and Jocelyn's career was going great. To her, it had hit an all-time high. Justin's 20th birthday was soon approaching and Jocelyn was having a horrible time trying to figure something out for him. He had everything, except... Jocelyn had the perfect present, but only if he would accept it. The night came and the guys were on tour in Europe, but Jocelyn made sure that she was with them. They went out clubbing for a couple of hours and then went back to the hotel. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jocelyn: Alright, you guys got to spend time with Justin, so let me have him for a while. ::smiles:: Joey: Alright, you two have fun. ::winks:: ::Jocelyn and Justin go in the room.:: Justin: Alone huh? I love being alone with you. Jocelyn: I do too. Alright, I have only one present for you and I'm not quite sure that you will accept it, but I am offering anyways. Justin: Are you offering what I think you're offering? Jocelyn: I'm offering, but will you accept? Justin: It took me a long time to figure out that I'm ready, but now I know that I am completely ready to give you my heart... soul... everything. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- That night was the most magical night of their lives. They knew that the night would come and that they would be ready when it came. They were. That year, Jocelyn did a 10-minute half-time show at the Super Bowl, sang the national anthem at the NHL All-Star game, sang for the president at the White House, release her first big screen movie, had her own television special and much more. The year was going absolutely great. A lot of fun/great things happened that year also. Of course, Justin's 20th birthday was on January 31st, Joey's 24th birthday was on January 28th, Lance's 22nd birthday was on May 4th, Jocelyn's 17th birthday was on May 29th, JC's 25th birthday was on August 8th, and Chris' 30th... yes 30th... birthday was on October 17th. Joey and Ashley tried to get back together but realized that they couldn't work things out. They are still really good friends. Ashley is now engaged to her ex-boyfriend, Ron. Jennifer and JC had a little trouble with their relationship, but found what they needed to find. They are not engaged yet, but figured that they will probably be married in early 2003. Lance and Danielle broke up. Poor guy. He was really hurt by the break up, but he recently started seeing Jennifer Love Hewitt (her and Carson broke up a while back). Chris recently started dating Neve Campbell (weird, I know, but they are cute together). Josh and Britney are broken up right now, but they are still really good friends and plan on dating again. Chris (Jocelyn's cousin and dancer) has become really good friends with Christina Aguilera. Christina really likes Chris (he doesn't know it), but he has a girlfriend right now so we'll see what happens with that. Joseph (cousin and dancer) is dating Katie Holmes, but she is kind of worried about the age difference (she's 22 and he's 17). Jocelyn's dad completely recovered from his heart attack and, by the doctor's suggestion, went on a diet to loose some weight. With the overwhelming amount of money that Jocelyn was making from the movie and the music, she decided to build her parents a new home and buy them each a new car. She bought her dad a brand new Chevy pickup and her mom a new Mitsubishi Eclipse. Jocelyn also donated a lot of money to charities. Part of this was that she went in with 'N Sync and put on a huge charity event (basketball, hockey, football, etc.) with musical performances by Limp Bizkit, DMX, Will Smith, and more. This event was huge and raised a lot of money for charity. With 'N Sync's tour over and Jocelyn having a break before filming the next movie, her and Justin decided to take a vacation and visit some relatives. On September 3, 2001, Justin and Jocelyn left Wichita, Kansas for a small road trip to Borger, Texas and Divide, Colorado. At a truck stop on the way to Borger, Justin did something that Jocelyn had hoped for for years. Justin: Baby, I need to ask you something. Jocelyn: Okay. Go ahead. Justin: Okay, well you know that you mean more to me than life itself. I would give up everything... my career, my life... everything to be with you. Well I guess what I'm trying to say is... will you marry me? ::There was a long pause before anyone said anything. Finally, Justin broke in.:: Justin: What? What are you thinking? ::Jocelyn breaks down crying.:: Jocelyn: Of course I'll marry you. ::smiles:: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- They hugged and Justin slipped the ring on Jocelyn's finger. Jocelyn had never seen such a ring in her entire life. This was one to brag about. The ride to Borger all of a sudden became more exciting. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Justin: So I thought that if I asked you to marry me now, then we would have enough time to get everything ready and get married right after you graduate. Jocelyn: Sounds good to me. Maybe the first weekend in June or something. Justin: As soon as possible, that's all I know. I can't stand to not be married to you any longer. ::smiles:: I guess that we should call my parents and the guys and let them know. Jocelyn: Yeah. I need to call my parents too. Justin: No need. They knew before you did. Jocelyn: Well that's just great. Go and tell them. What if I would have said no? Huh? There's no chance that I would have, but what if? ::smiles:: Okay, call them and use the video phone because I want to see their reactions. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jocelyn called Justin's house and if turns out that they were having a get-together and all the guys were there. Justin told them the news and as a reaction, hear about 6 "about time"'s. Everyone was really excited and arrangements started being made right away. Since all the guys were there, Justin went ahead and asked Chris to be his bestman and the rest of the guys to be groomsmen. They all agreed and they said goodbye so that Jocelyn could call and make arrangements for her bridesmaids. Jocelyn knew that she wanted Kara as her maid of honor because she had been there for her through everything. She picked her 3 bridesmaids to be Shanna, Anna and Britney. After deciding for sure, the call was made to all 4 of them and they immediately agreed. Justin ended up driving Jocelyn's Durango the whole way to Borger. Once they pulled into her aunt and uncle's driveway, she saw that he cousin (who lives in another town) was there with her husband and children. She was happy to see that they were there because she needed her cousin to go with her to do something very important. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jocelyn: Hey! What's going on? Angie: It's nice to see you in person again. I see you all the time but it's always on TV. Jocelyn: I know. I've been awfully busy lately but have definitely been meaning to visit you all. Angie: I'm glad that you finally had the time. Jocelyn: Well I'd like for you to meet my fiance', Justin. Stan: Fiance'? Jocelyn: Yeah, Justin proposed to me on the way down here and I said "yes". Heather: That's great Jocelyn! I'm happy that you two finally are engaged. You've been the hottest couple in showbiz since you started dating. Justin: Yeah, but I don't think that my fans are really ready for me to get married. They'll just have to get over it though. ::smiles:: Jocelyn: ::smiles:: Hey Heather, I need to go to the store. Will you come with me? Heather: Yeah, I'd be glad to. Marcus, will you watch the kids? Marcus: Of course. Go ahead. Jocelyn: Justin, how about you stay here and talk with Marcus? Justin: That's fine. Go ahead and do whatever you need to do. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jocelyn and Heather jumped in the car and headed to the store. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Heather: So what did you need to go to the store so bad for? Jocelyn: Well, I don't want Justin to know, but I need to get a pregnancy test. Heather: Oh my gosh! Are you serious? Jocelyn: Yeah, but I didn't want to tell Justin yet just in case it wasn't true. Heather: I totally understand that. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- They got the test that Heather recommended and headed back to the house. Jocelyn went straight to the bathroom as soon as they got back. After she was done with the test, she went back out to the living room to see what everyone was up to. The second that she walked out, she got a questioning look from Heather. In response, she shook her head "yes" and Heather smiled. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jocelyn: So how old is Jennifer (Heather and Marcus' baby), Heather? Heather: She's 2 months old. Do you want to hold her? Jocelyn: Sure. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jocelyn couldn't believe that she would be having a baby of her own. It was a dream come true, yet her career would have to be put on hold for a while, especially her modeling career. After holding the baby for a while, she asked Justin if he wanted to hold her (she figured that he could use the practice). He was soo good with the baby and Jocelyn knew that he would be a good father. Later that afternoon, Jocelyn asked Justin if they could go outside and talk. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Justin: So what's up? Jocelyn: I need to tell you something very important but I don't know exactly how you're going to react. Justin: Okay... what is it? Jocelyn: I'm pregnant Justin. Justin: Oh my gosh! Are you serious? That's great! Jocelyn: So you're happy about this? Justin: Happy? Of course I'm happy! Are you happy? Jocelyn: I'm happy! I just didn't know if you would be happy about it. Justin: Of course! I was actually going to suggest trying to have a baby. I really really want one. I love you baby. Jocelyn: I love you too. ::they kiss and then go back inside to tell her family:: Stan: You're what? Jocelyn: I'm pregnant. Stan: Have you told your parents yet? Jocelyn: No. You guys are the only ones that know and I really don't want anyone else to know yet. We'll tel them when we get back, so can you not mention anything please? Stan: Yeah, we promise. Jocelyn: Thanks. Marcus: Congratulations you guys. Heather: Yeah, congrats! Jocelyn: Thanks. I know that we're really excited about it. Angie: So was it planned? Jocelyn: No, but I really really want it. Justin: I do too. I want it more than anything. Angie: Well, we're extremely happy for you two. Jocelyn: Thank you Angie, that really means a lot. ::smiles:: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The next few days in Borger went by fast and before they knew it, it was time for them to head to Divide, Colorado. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jocelyn: So where do you want to have the wedding? Justin: I kind of want to have it in Orlando, but that could be a problem with all of your family being in Wichita. Jocelyn: Yeah, but if we have it in Wichita, then that could be a problem with your family. Justin: We'll just have it in Wichita. We can fly everyone in for it. Jocelyn: Are you sure that you want to do that? Justin: Yeah. As long as we're getting married, I don't care where it's at. Have you thought of any names for the baby? Jocelyn: Well I've always loved the name Dakota Raye for a boy. Justin: Dakota Raye Timberlake. Sounds good to me. How about a girl's name? Jocelyn: I'm not sure. You decide. Justin: I know it sounds weird, but I like the name Dudley for a girl. Jocelyn: In a weird way, it works. I like it. ::smiles:: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- When they got to Divide, they visited with her aunt and uncle (Fred and Sue) for a while and then decided to go visit Chris (her dancer and cousin) at his house. When they got there, they found out that he was having a party. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ::gives Chris a hug:: Chris: What are ya'll doing here? Jocelyn: Your parents didn't tell you that we were coming in? Chris: Nope. It's good to see you though. Do you all want a beer? Justin: ::looks at Jocelyn:: Sure, I'll take one. (So he's underage, who cares! :)) Chris: Jocelyn? Jocelyn: I can't. Not that I would, because I don't like beer, but I really can't now. Chris: Why not? Jocelyn: Probably not good for the baby. Chris: Baby? Justin: Jocelyn just found out that she's pregnant. Chris: Oh my gosh. Great news, huh? Jocelyn: We're definitely excited. So you can put off moving to Wichita for a while if you want. Chris: No, I still plan on moving up there next month! Thought that it owuld be better for the dancing rehearsals and everything. Plus, I really want to move to Wichita. Anyways, let me go get ya'll something to drink. One beer and one water coming up! ::smiles:: ::Chris walks off:: Jocelyn: Baby, I just thought of something. Justin: What's that? Jocelyn: Where are we going to live? I mean, my life is in Wichita, but your life and the guys are in Orlando. Justin: To tell you the truth, I've never really thought of it. I mean, I can probably come live in Wichita with you if you want. Jocelyn: No no no... your life is the group and the group is in Orlando. I can move to Orlando. It will sure as hell be easier for me to move down there than it would be for all 5 of ya'll to move to Wichita. Justin: Baby, don't worry about it right now. We'll talk to the guys when we get back. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- They spent the rest of the night at the party and had a great time. The next couple of days went by fast, but it was filled with shopping and talking. They decided to take a trip to Pike's Peak because Justin had never been there. When they got to the top, Jocelyn started feeling very faint so they laid her down in the truck. Whether it was the altitude, the baby, or a combination of the two...they didn't know. She felt like crap the whole time that they were there and was laying down the majority of the time. They left on Sunday so that they could be back in Wichita that night because their flight for Orlando left early Monday morning. They were going there to talk to the guys about what they wanted to do after Justin and Jocelyn got married (where they were going to live). When they got back to Wichita... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Kathy: So how was your trip? Justin: It was really good to meet your brothers (talking to Kathy) and their family. Kathy: Did they all approve? Justin: I don't know. I hope so. Jocelyn: Why wouldn't they? ::smiles:: Ron: Are you feeling alright Jocelyn? Jocelyn: Just feeling a little morning sickness. They need to change the name because it's not morning and I still feel it. Ron: Morning sickness? But you only get that when you're... Justin: ::breaks in:: Pregnant! Kathy: You're pregnant? Jocelyn: Yeah. Ron: That's great! Jocelyn: It is? Ron: Yeah, I mean, if that's what you want. Jocelyn: I just figured that you would freak out about it. Ron: Not, it's okay with me. Especially since you're getting married...wait... ::looks at her ring finger:: Good! I thought that I just goofed there. Jocelyn: No, we've been engaged since the day we left. Kathy: We're both extremely happy for ya'll...about both...
