| True love Conquers All - Chapter 11-12 Justin: Dang girl, I can't believe that they are going to world premiere your video tomorrow on TRL. Jocelyn: Yeah, I know. I am really glad that I know you guys though. That way it will be shown for the very first time on TRL. Otherwise, it would probably bounce around for weeks before anyone even hearing about it. You know that I am just using you guys, don't you? ::laughs:: Justin: Yeah, I knew that there had to be a reason that you were hanging out with us! ::smiles:: Jocelyn: I can't believe that you actually talked Carson into premiering it on the show. Justin: Carson and I are tight! ::laughs:: Jocelyn: Yeah, you wish! ::smiles:: ::Chris walks in.:: Jocelyn: Hey Chris! What's up baby? Justin: Baby? Chris: Yeah, didn't you know that Jocelyn and I were together? Justin: Oh really? Jocelyn: Yup. ::laughs:: Justin: So what's new? Chris: Well, we all were talking and since we aren't doing anything tomorrow, we thought that we would deliver Jocelyn's video personally. Justin: Yeah, that sounds like a good idea, what do you think Jocelyn? Jocelyn: Sounds good to me, but ya'll have done enough already. You don't have to do that. Chris: No, we want to. It's all decided, so you can't talk us out of it. Plus, we wanted to you to go with us too. We probably won't have you out, it just depends on what Carson wants to do. Jocelyn: Yeah, that sounds good to me. So we leave tonight or when? Chris: We're leaving in the morning at about 11. Jocelyn: Alrighty. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The next morning at 10:45, the 6 of them boarded the plane headed to New York City. The plane trip took a little longer than expected due to some light rain. They arrived in NYC at 2:30 an hurried to the MTV studio in Times Square, where Carson would soon be premiering the video without knowing that 'N Sync and Jocelyn were going to show up. They arrived at the studios in a suburban because they didn't want to show up in a limo because they didn't want everyone to know that they were coming. They were quickly escorted up to where Carson was taping TRL for that day because he was getting ready to world premiere it and they must hurry and get in there. Carson was quickly told (in his ear) that they were in the building. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Carson: I have just been told that 'N Sync is in the house today to help us get into this suprise world premiere video today. Welcome 'N Sync! ::'N Sync walks in:: Carson: Hey guys, how is it going? Joey: It's going pretty good Carson, how about you? Carson: I'm doing good. So why don't you explain to everyone why you are here to premiere this suprise video. JC: Okay, well, about 2 months ago, we met this talented, young artist who just blew us away and she's been working really hard to get her album together for realease in about 2 weeks. Justin's mom signed her to her independent label and we've been working with her every since and she's even been touring with us for the past week. We've become really good friends with her and we're just really proud of everything that she's accomplished in such a short amount of time that we figured that we would come here and help boost her career by delivering her video personally. Carson: I see. Well, let's get into her video right now. This is the world premiere of Jocelyn Langlois' debut video entitled "Baby One More Time" on TRL. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The video was shown to a live audience all across the world and then the television came back to Carson and the guys. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Carson: Wow! That's a great song and a great video. JC: Yeah, the thing about Jocelyn that's going to set her different from the rest of the pop artists today is that she wrote every single song on her debut album, she choreographed all of her dance moves by herself, she co-produced her own album and she directed her own video. This, I think is mainly what is going to attract people to her. She's definitely a talented young lady. Carson: Yes, I can definitely see that. Also, I noticed that Britney Spears and Tatyana Ali, as well as you guys, made special appearances in the video. How did she talk you guys into that? Justin: Well, why don't we have her answer that question herself? Carson: She's here? Justin: Yes she is. Carson: Okay, Jocelyn, come on out. ::Jocelyn walks in.:: Jocelyn: Hi Carson. It's a pleasure to meet you. Carson: It's nice to meet you too. Well, I guess that you were probably watching the show backstage. Would you like to answer that last question? Jocelyn: Yeah, I'd love to. Well, I had a dream one night about how I wanted my video to be and I figured that no one else could interpret that and direct the video themselves, so I told the guys that I wanted to direct it myself. They thought that it was a good idea and I just up and asked them if they would like to dance in the video. They all agreed and that was it. Then, the day of the shoot, I showed up and Britney and Tatyana were there. Turns out that Justin had contacted them about a week and a half before and taught them all the dance steps and the rest is history. Carson: Well, I'd love for you all to stay and chat, but I was just told to move on with the show, so I have to be taking a commercial break now. It was nice of you all to stop in and I bet that we will be seeing your video on the countdown soon. It was nice to meet you Jocelyn. Jocelyn: It was nice to meet you too Carson. Thanks for having us on. Carson: We'll be right back after this commercial break. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jocelyn got a call the next day right at 2pm from the TRL staff at MTV and they told Jocelyn to watch the show that day, but they didn't give a reason for telling her this. Jocelyn quickly called the guys and told them about the phone call and they came over to her hotel room to watch the show with her. To her suprise, her video debuted at #7 the day after it's release. Jocelyn was estatic, as well as the guys were for her. This was a dream come true for Jocelyn and she couldn't believe that it had happened so fast. Carson called Jocelyn up after the show and congratulated her personally on the high debut. He also told her that he invisioned plenty of more chart spots for this song and video. She was really glad to hear this from Carson Daily himself. She would either watch or tape the show every day to see what happened! Jocelyn's video was on TRL for the next week, hitting a high of #4. She couldn't believe that her video was doing so well after such a short amount of time. The tour was also going great. Jocelyn couldn't believe the support that she was getting from the fans. They were absolutely incredible. One day, while on tour, Jocelyn received a call from Lynn, telling her that Disney had called her and wanted to know if Jocelyn would be willing to do a Disney special with them in a couple of weeks (also the day that her debut album was scheduled to be released). Jocelyn couldn't believe this honor. After all, the Disney special for 'N Sync was what made their careers soar. She talked to the guys and they seemed to be able to work it into the schedule of the tour if Jocelyn wouldn't mind rehearsing while out on tour. Jocelyn said that she didn't mind at all, she knew that it would be a lot of hard work, but if she could get through this, then she knew that she would be ready for anything. So it was set. Jocelyn was scheduled to tape her Disney special in a little over two weeks in Orlando, Florida. It seems that they were going to be taping this special at the same local high school that Jocelyn had shot her video for "Baby One More Time" at. They would be having the special outside, on the football field. The Orlando high school had one of the biggest high school football stadiums in the country, which was perfect for the show. The next couple of weeks were really exhausting for Jocelyn, Jennifer and Ashley because between shows, they had the practices for the special. Jocelyn ended up having to do some reworking with the choreography so that she could be the best for national television. She had always dreamed of being on tv and the dream had first come true with the whole MTV - TRL thing and now again with the Disney Special. The Disney Special had already brought many talk shows to Jocelyn before she even taped the special. Jocelyn got a call from Regis and Kathie Lee and Rosie O'Donnell. It seems that she could work both of the shows into her schedule, so she went ahead and let them book her for the dates that they wanted. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Joey: So how is everything going? You've seemed really worn out lately. Jocelyn: You know, it's just all of this touring and rehearsing for the special. I have never done so much work in my life. Joey: I know, but you're strong and you're going to overcome this. Jocelyn: I know, but just getting there is hard work. I am like completely out of shape. I mean, I'm getting better, but it was just all the sitting around, doing nothing before I started all this that did a toll on me. Joey: Yeah, but as hard as you have been working yourself, you're going to be just fine. Jocelyn: Thanks Joey. You've been the best friend to me these past months and I am SOO greatful to you for that. Joey: You're just such an incredible person that it's hard not to get a long with you. Jocelyn: Thanks. I mean, if I wouldn't have met you guys, even if my career had gotten off of the ground, then I would definitely not be having as much fun as I am. I really don't know what I am going to do after I get done with this tour and I have to quit traveling with you guys. That's really going to stink, you know? Joey: Yeah, it's going to stink. Not being around you, I mean. You've just been a breath of fresh air for us since we're used to traveling with other people that maybe we don't get along with as easy. Jocelyn: You're the best Joey. ::hugs Joey:: Joey: No problem girl. Just remember that I am here for you whenever you need someone to talk to. Jocelyn: Thanks. The same goes for you, okay? Anything! Just don't hesitate to talk to me. I mean, what are friends for? Joey: Exactly. ::smiles:: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The day had finally come for the release of Jocelyn's self-titled debut album and also the Disney Special. The first thing on Jocelyn's agenda was to go to the Virgin Mega Store in New York and have an autograph signing for the release of her album. To Jocelyn's suprise, there was quite a few people that turned out for the signing. Jocelyn wished that she could have stayed longer and signed albums, but she had to go and get ready for the grueling day of rehearsing and the final taping of the Disney special. Jocelyn had finally worked out the final set for the special and was ready to work through it one time before the live taping. They ended up starting out with "Daydreamin'", then "Angel of Mine", then "The First Night", followed by "Have You Ever", leading into "Genie In A Bottle", next was "Sometimes", finishing with "Baby One More Time". Between the 7 songs, were a bunch of interviews. The interviews included Jocelyn's hobbies (which included music, shopping and hockey), her family (Dad-Ron, Mom-Kathy, Brothey-Josh, grandparents and her dancers, which were her cousins), friends (the guys of 'N Sync, Jazmyn, Anna, Shanna, and Britney). The whole special ended up being quite a success with a major turn out of screaming fans (both girls and guys). After the show, Jocelyn promised that she would sign a few autographs and let a couple of her fans meet her. After all of this was finally over, Jocelyn was unbelievably tired and ready to go to bed. That's exactly what she did. Jocelyn was watching Total Request Live the day after her debut album was released (and the taping of the Disney Special) and her video was #2 on the countdown (it's highest showing), right behind 'N Sync's "I Drive Myself Crazy". Jocelyn couldn't believe that the release of her album had helped her position on TRL so much. It was almost a dream come true. The best part would be kicking 'N Sync out of the number one spot, just for laughs with the guys! After the first week totals were in for album sales, Jocelyn's album had proved to be the number one album in the country. Along with still holding the number one spot for the second week for her single, "Baby One More Time", Jocelyn was also had the number one album, the youngest person ever to have a number 1 single and a number 1 album at the same time. To celebrate, Justin decided to take Jocelyn out for a special night. He took her to a really nice restaurant to have dinner and a nice, long talk. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jocelyn: I just wanted to thank you SOOO much for doing this for me. Justin: Well, you deserve it. After all, your the youngest person ever to have a number 1 single and a number 1 album at the same time. That's got to stand for quite a bit, don't you think? Jocelyn: I guess. I mean, I'm just doing what I love to do and even if neither had ever hit number 1, I would still be just as happy as I am now. What makes me so happy is just being with you and the rest of the guys. Nothing, and I mean NOTHING could make me happier. Justin: Jocelyn, I need to tell you something. Jocelyn: Shoot. Justin: Well, to tell you the truth, I have NEVER felt this way about ANYONE in my whole entire life. You make me the happiest man alive. Jocelyn: Oh baby. Justin: I haven't been able to say this to you yet, so what I'm trying to say is...... Jocelyn, I love you. Jocelyn: I love you too Justin. Justin: You do? Jocelyn: Of course. I've been madly in love you ever since we started dating, I was just waiting for the right time to tell you. Plus I didn't know if it was exactly what I thought that it was. Justin: Yeah, I understand. I also need to ask you something else too. Jocelyn: What's that? Justin: I was just wondering, that since we have made a step in our relationship, will you wear my class ring? Jocelyn: You want me to wear your class ring? Justin: Yes. It's a symbol of our love. Jocelyn: Of course. I would be proud to wear it. Justin: Also, do you mind if we make our relationship public? Jocelyn: I thought that you would never ask. Justin: What? Jocelyn: I've been wanting to for a while, but I figured that you wouldn't want to come out with this right yet, since it's going to be your fans that are going to be the most upset. Justin: I know, but they will get over it. How about we make a deal? Whatever we are thinking, we HAVE to tell eachother because it seems that we have been holding a few things back from eachother. Jocelyn: I promise to tell you everything, no matter what I think that you are going to think. Justin: Good. I promise too. ::They kiss.:: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The next couple of weeks had also been very busy for Jocelyn, with her doing the tour, the Regis and Kathie Lee show and the Rosie O'Donnell show, yet it was better than what she was doing before with the rehearsals for the special. Jocelyn finally got to catch up a little on her sleep. 'N Sync and Jocelyn didn't have a concert the night of the premiere of the Disney Special, so they all sat around in their hotel and watched it with anticipation. Jocelyn's mom, Kathy, had promised to tape the concert, just like she had started to tape things that Jocelyn was on. Seeing the concert for the first time, to Jocelyn, was weird because she had never actually seen herself perform. It was weird, but she was happy that everything was going good. After the special, the guys congratulated Jocelyn, Jennifer and Ashley on a job well done with the special. They then had a little party of their own to celebrate her accomplishment. |
