| True Love Conquers All - Chapter 13-14 The day after Jocelyn's special on Disney premiered, her video hit #1 on Total Request Live, kicking out 'N Sync's "I Drive Myself Crazy". Jocelyn didn't think that her life could get much better until one day, while on tour, she got a call from 98 Degrees themselves who wanted Jocelyn to open for them for a about a month on their upcoming tour. She agreed and so it was settled that she would be opening for 98 Degrees April 12th, to May 12th. She then decided that she wanted to go back to school for the rest of the school year and finish her freshman year at school. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The tour dates had come and gone like crazy. The next thing she knew, it was April 8th. April 10th would be last day that Jocelyn would be opening for 'N Sync and it was also the concert in her hometown of Wichita, Kansas. The guys knew how much this concert meant to her, so they talked it over with her and decided that Jocelyn would be holding a private concert the night before and she would invite all of her friends and family so they could see what she had been doing for the last few months. Jocelyn ended up making up about 100 invitations and sending them out to all of her friends and family. The concert would be held at her high school's football stadium. She told them that everyone on the list were first priority to get in and then after that, they could let anyone else in that wanted to go. They arrived in Wichita at about noon on April 8th. They went straight to her house, taking only one tour bus. The rest of the tour buses were taken to a hotel, where the rest of the crew would be staying. The guys decided to stay at Jocelyn's house with her and she was very happy about that. Jennifer and Ashley ended up going home for a little while, taking only JC (Joey didn't go because Ashley still had some explaining to do to Ron... her boyfriend). Jocelyn's whole family was SOOO happy to see her and was glad that they finally got to meet the other guys (they had already met Justin). The rest of the night was spent talking. The next day, Jocelyn received a call from her school. Turns out that they had found out about her being in town and were having a pep rally that day at school. They asked her if she wouldn't mind dropping by and performing a couple of songs for the rally. She said that she didn't mind, she was actually kind of looking forward to seeing her school and friends again. Her, Jennifer, Ashley and the guys of 'N Sync went to her school for the rally at about 10am. Jocelyn sported this shirt with black tight stretch pants, while each of her dancers sported this shirt with black tight stretch pants. After everyone from the school was in the auditorium, they turned the lights off to give Jocelyn a chance to get on the stage. (By the way, this was a suprise because no one knew of her coming to perform.) Then, right as the spotlight came on, Jocelyn started singing "Genie In A Bottle". There was a sound of shock coming from the audience and then once everyone realized who it was, there was lots of screaming. Jocelyn finished that song, then they introduced half of the sports. Jocelyn next went into her remix version of "The First Night" with Justin. After that, they finished announcing the sports and Jocelyn finished with a bang with "Baby One More Time". As soon as that song was over, she ran out of the building with everyone else and left to go back to her house. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- That night, Jocelyn wore a metallic green baby tank top with tight black stretch pants (the outfit that Britney Spears wears in her video "Crazy"). Each of her dancers had on the same outfit except their baby tank tops were metallic white instead of green. Her show that night ran about 1 1/2 with Jocelyn performing "Baby One More Time", "Genie In A Bottle", "Sometimes", "Have You Ever", "Angel of Mine", "The First Night" remix and "Daydreamin'". After the show, Jocelyn stood around and talked with all of her friends and family. They were all really glad that she gave them this chance to see what she was all about and she was also happy about it. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The next night came and Jocelyn was soo nervous about performing in her hometown that she had been shaking all day. Right before she went onstage, Justin gave her a kiss, which calmed her down a lot. Her outfit that night consisted of white vinyl pants with a pink vinyl tube top. She absolutely loved this outfit and picked this out for that night because she wanted to impress her hometown. The performance that night was great and was even brought out again in the middle of the 'N Sync set to do her remix of "The First Night" with Justin. The crowd absolutely loved it! It was an emotional setting in the bus after the show that night because the guys had to leave for the airport to go to tape the Jay Leno and Jocelyn had to leave to start her tour with 98 Degrees. Justin wasn't completely comfortable with the idea of her being on tour with the 4 of them but he figured that he could trust her enough to know that she wouldn't do anything with any of them. They parted ways after about an hour of goodbye's and Jocelyn got on the plane to Philidelphia, PA, the first stop on the 98 Degrees tour. Jocelyn was warmly greeted the next day at the airport by 98 Degrees themselves. Once again, they thanked her for doing this for them. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Drew: So how has it been being on tour with 'N Sync? Jocelyn: It's been great. The guys have been great. Everything has been great. It was really sad having to leave them though. Jeff: So you became really good friends with them? Jocelyn: Oh yeah. I mean, they are the ones that got my whole career off of the ground. Without them, I still would be sitting at home in Wichita, wishing that I was out doing this. Nick: So what kind of music do you listen to? Jocelyn: I listen to just about everything. I mean, anything from 'N Sync to Limp Bizkit! I'm not in to too much rap though. Some of it's alright, but I could definitely do without. Justin: Yeah, I know. I'm like that too, but I don't think that the other guys could live without it. Drew: Nope. Definitely not. Jocelyn: Yeah, I know, that's how Justin is. Drew: So do you have a boyfriend? Nick: Drew, that was kind of upfront, don't you think? Drew: Well, I saw the class ring on her hand and I was just wondering. Jocelyn: Yeah, actually I do. I'm dating Justin Timberlake. Jeff: Wow! Justin and the rest of the guys have been really good friends to us. He's a great guy. Jocelyn: You're telling me! ::smiles:: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jocelyn received a call one day to do a magazine cover for Teen magazine with the Backstreet Boys. Jocelyn was kind of reluctant to accept the offer because she was not a huge fan of BSB, but in the end accepted because she figured that they deserved a fair shot. The shoot was scheduled for April 16th in New York City, NY. The day came and Justin was scheduled to go with Jocelyn but when the time came, he suddenly cancelled saying that he forgot about a radio interview that he had to do. When Jocelyn got to the studio, she heard some guys talking in a dressing room. It turned out to be BSB. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A.J.: So I wonder what this is going to be like? Nick: I don't know but I would bet that she's majorly stuck up. Every show that I see her on, it seems that she is always showing off and she always has to wear some kind of skimpy outfit. I bet that she's not even as pretty in person as she is on TV. I bet it's mainly airbrushing. Brian: Come on Nick, why do you always have to be so negative about everything? Kevin: No kidding Nick! Liten up and give her a chance would you? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jocelyn walks in. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jocelyn: Yeah Nick, give her a chance would you? Howie: God Nick, that was smooth! Nick: How long were you standing out there? Jocelyn: Long enough. You know, I almost turned this offer down because I figured that something like this would happen! I should have known better than to expect anything more from you! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jocelyn stomps out of the room. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A.J.: Way to go man! You really blew this one! Howie: She's definitely as gorgeous in person as she is in the magazines and stuff. Nick: No kidding! I guess I better go talk to her. Brian: Yeah, well, that might be a good idea. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Nick walks out to go find Jocelyn. He ended up finding her crying near the women's bathroom. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Nick: Look Jocelyn, I'm really sorry about everything that I said. Jocelyn: Nick, I really don't want to hear your excuses. I don't even know why I am letting this get to me, I mean, I knew that you guys were jerks. Nick: But I'm not, that's the thing. Even if I am, don't take your impression of me and hold it against the rest of the guys. Jocelyn: I don't know Nick. maybe I should just forget about this whole thing. Nick: No, don't do that. If anything, I should be the one to leave, I mean, afterall, I am the one that caused this whole incident. Jocelyn: No, you can't leave either. We just need to start completely over and forget everything up to now. Nick: Yeah, I agree. It is soo good of you to do that after all that I said about you. Jocelyn: What did you say? :smiles: Hi. My name is Jocelyn Langlois. Nick: Nice to meet you. My name is Nick Carter. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The photo shoot was a huge success and Jocelyn was corrected about how she thought BSB was. Nick also was taken back about everything that he had said before about Jocelyn. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A.J.: So where are you from? Jocelyn: Wichita, Kansas. Have you guys ever been there? Howie: Nah. The only place in Kansas that we've ever been is Kansas City. We did a show there once. Jocelyn: Cool. I actually just opened for 'N Sync in my hometown last week. It was awesome! Brian: Performing in your hometown can be the best feeling in the world. Jocelyn: I know. It was. Kevin: So are you really only 14? Jocelyn: Yeah, why? Kevin: You just don't look like you're 14. Jocelyn: Well thanks. I guess I'll take that as a compliment. Brian: Well Jocelyn, we have got to be going, but if you ever need anything, don't hesitate to give us a call, okay? Jocelyn: Okay, I won't. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- They all said goodbye and AJ, Kevin, Brian and Howie started to walk out. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A.J.: Aren't you coming Nick? Nick: Yeah, I'll be there in a minute, go ahead without me. A.J.: Okay, we'll see you in a minute. Jocelyn: So what's up Nick? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Before Nick could answer, he kissed Jocelyn. Right at this time (while they were kissing), Justin came to the door, but the second that he saw them, he ran out of the building. Jocelyn: What the heck are you doing Nick? Nick: I thought that you wanted me to kiss you. Jocelyn: No Nick! I'm dating someone. Nick: You are? I didn't know that. Jocelyn: Yeah, I'm dating Justin Timberlake. Nick: What do you see in that loser Jocelyn? Jocelyn: No! I can not even believe that you just said that to me. Nick, the only real loser is you! Nick: Oh come on girl, you know that you wanted to kiss me! Jocelyn: No, I did not and if you can be that shallow to think that every girl in this world wants you, then you have another thing coming! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jocelyn stomped out of the room only to find Brian walking towards the room. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Brian: Hey. Did Justin catch you? Jocelyn: What? No. Did he call? Brian: No, he was here and he asked me where you were. I told him and he went to look for you. Jocelyn: Oh no! Brian: What? What's wrong? Jocelyn: Nick kissed me. Brian: What? Jocelyn: Right after you guys left, he just kissed me! I told him that I was dating Justin and he had the nerve to call him a loser. I am just soo sick and tired of Nick's crap! Brian: Yeah, I understand because he has done nothing but disrespect you! I'm soo sorry Jocelyn, but right now you better go find Justin. Jocelyn: Yeah, see you Brian! Brian: Bye! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jocelyn walked around for an hour looking for Justin and finally found him outside sitting by the door. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jocelyn: Justin? Justin: Just go away! I really don't even want to see you right now! Jocelyn: You have to let me explain at least! Justin: No, I don't! I think that I saw everything clearly. You and Nick were kissing, were you not? Jocelyn: No! Nick kissed me! Justin: And that should make things better? Jocelyn: Yeah. Justin: Well I don't see how! Anyways. I don't want to talk to you right now! Just please go away. Jocelyn: No. I'm not going to let our relationship end like this. Justin: Well you don't have much say. I'm sorry. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Justin walked down the street, found a cab and went to the airport, boarding the first plane that he could to get away from Jocelyn. Jocelyn walked back into the studio to talk to the editor of Teen magazine. She told htem that she absolutely did not want any of the pictures to be in the magazine at all. They asked her why and she replied saying "I can not stand behind something that I don't believe in." She then went to find the guys of BSB. By the time that she found them, she was crying. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Nick: Jocelyn..... Jocelyn: No, I'm going to talk and you guys are going to listen. First of all, I just told the Teen magazine editors that I don't want any of the pictures we took today released! I told them that I can't stand behind somethign that I don't believe in. And I just want to say right now that I have nothing against the four of you. Nick on the other hand is a different story. I will tell you right now that I do not even want to hear another word out of your mouth to me! The sight of you makes me sick and you might have just ended a wonderful relationship between me and Justin. Nick: Good. Jocelyn: No. Not good! I can't believe that you can stand there and say that! You make me sick! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- At that time, Jocelyn was soo furious with Nick that she hauled off and hit him! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Nick: What the hell was that for? Jocelyn: Do you really even have to ask? RIght now I'm going to leave before I do anything I regret! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jocelyn left, went straight to the airport and figured that she should probably try to go work things out with Justin. She arrived at his hotel and went ot the front desk to ask what room he was in. They said that they couldn't give out that information. SHe told them who she was and had them call up to his room to ask if she could come up. He told them that he didn't want to speak to her, so Jocelyn devided to go sit in the lobby and wait until she saw one of the guys come down. As she was sitting in the lobby, watching MTV, she was shocked by what she saw on MTV News1515. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Kurt Loder: Apparently, today, Jocelyn Langlois was spotted hitting Nick Carter of the Backstreet Boys after a photo shoot for Teen magazine. Neither BSB or Jocelyn could be contacted to speak about this matter. As soon as more information can be collected, it will be passed right along. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jocelyn was outraged! She couldn't believe that MTV had already found out about the incident. Right at this time, Jocelyn turned around to find JC standing behind her. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- JC: So why did you hit Nick? Jocelyn: Yeah, like you don't already know. JC: Know what? Jocelyn: Justin hasn't told you? JC: Justin hasn't talked to anyone since he has been back. We keep asking what's up with him but he won't talk at all! What happened in New York? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jocelyn told JC the whole story. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- JC: Oh my gosh! You mean Justin wouldn't listen to you at all? Jocelyn: Nope. JC, I feel soo bad, but it really wasn't my fault. He kissed me before I even knew what was happening! JC: I believe you. Let me go talk to Justin. You can come upstairs but let me talk to him alone. Okay? Jocelyn: Okay. Thanks JC. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- They went upstairs and Jocelyn sat in JC's room while he was talking to Justin. Jocelyn decided that she should call 98 Degrees and tell them why she wasn't back yet. She told them that she woudl be back as soon as she could. They were really understanding and told her to take her time! About the time that she was hanging up, JC walked in. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jocelyn: So what did he say? JC: He said that he would give you a chance to tell your side of the story, but right now he needs time to cool off. Jocelyn, he started crying. I have never seen him cry before. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The thought of Justin crying made Jocelyn break down crying herself! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- JC: What's wrong? Jocelyn: Just the thought of ever messign this relationship up scares the crap out of me, you know? JC: Yeah, I know. The thought of your guys' relationship being messed up scares the crap out of me too because I know that if your guys' love can't withstand everythign that you guys throw at it, then no one's can because I've never seen two people with a stronger love than yours and Justin's. Jocelyn: Really? JC: Yeah, it makes me sick! :laughs: Hey, I made you laugh at least! Jocelyn: That you did. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- It was almost 3 hours before Justin came in to talk to Jocelyn. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jocelyn: Hey! Justin: Hi. Jocelyn: Look Justin... Justin: Wait... I just want to say a couple of things first. Jocelyn: Okay... Justin: Okay, well today has made me realize exactly how strong my feelings are for you. For the most part, that's a really good thing, but in a way it sucks because it just makes me get that much more jealous. Now, I hate being a jealous person and I'm going to work on it, but when I see you kissing another guys, then I just can't help but to be jealouse, you know? Jocelyn: I totally understand that, but you have to trust me enough to know that I am never going to cheat on you. Justin: I know and that's something that I am going to work on because I know that you would never cheat on me. Jocelyn: So you believe me? Justin: Of course I belive you, but I just had a hard time listening to my heart. I'm sorry that I made you come all the way out here. Jocelyn: No, it's okay. I was really missing you anyways. Justin: Me too. So did you really hit Nick? Jocelyn: Yeah. It's all over MTV already too. I'm going to have to answer some questions and clear things up. Justin: Yeah, what exactly are you going to tell them? Jocelyn: I don't know, but don't you think that now would be a good time to tell everyone about us? Justin: I don't know if it's the best time, but telling them is the only way to help justify what you did. Jocelyn: Okay, I'll call MTV tomorrow and tell them that I want to explain it in person. Justin: And I'll go with you. Jocelyn: You will? Justin: Of course. I can't expect you to do this by yourself. Jocelyn: Thanks baby, I love you soo much! Justin: I love you too! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jocelyn ended up staying the night at the hotel with Justin that night. (Don't worry. Nothing happened! Chill out people!) The next morning, Jocelyn called MTV and told them that she would like to make a comment about the incident and they said that they would send a camera crew and John Norris out right away. About 2 hours later, John Norris was there. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- John: So what happened yesterday that made you hit Nick Carter? Jocelyn: Well before I can explain why I did it, I need to say that Justin and I have been dating. We just made it official, so we thought that now would be a good time to make it public. Okay, so yesterday, I was doing that photo shoot with BSB and after the shoot, Nick just kissed me! I took me completely by suprise! I then told Nick that Justin and I were dating and he had the nerve to call him a loser. I guess that I just lost it and I will apologize right now, but I do not regret it. John: And what do you think about all this Justin? Justin: I completely stand by Jocelyn and if Nick can't tell me this to my face, then it just shows how he has to go behind people's backs to say what he thinks. Personally, it doesn't bother me because talk is cheap but he just better hope that he doesn't try to make a move on Jocelyn again. John: Well you heard it first on MTV. Justin Timberlake and Jocelyn Langlois are in fact a couple. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- After the interview was over, Jocelyn had to catch a plane back to the tour with 98 Degrees. |
