| True love Conquers All - Chapter 17-18 When time came for the Movie Awards, the 6 of them plus Steven headed to the awards show a day early to attend rehearsal. The guys had to tape a segment for the show called Armagedd'N Sync while Jocelyn was there rehearsing for the presentation of the award. Jocelyn and Limp Bizkit would be presenting the award for best actor in a comedy. After the guys came back from taping the segment, they all went out for lunch with Limp Bizkit. Jocelyn was suprised that Fred had agreed to spend any time with 'N Sync, but he said that him and the other guys would give them a chance. They went to a local cafe but asked for a private room so that fans wouldn't interrupt their conversation. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Justin: Jocelyn tells me that she had a lot of fun on the tour with ya'll. Fred: We did too, actually. I feel that it was good to let our fans know that we didn't have a problem with what she does. Maybe we changed some people's views and maybe we didn't, but we had fun in the process and that is what counts. To tell you the truth, I even went out and bought Jocelyn's CD. The whole thing is very creative and I truly respect her talents. JC: We do too. She's a very talented person. Jocelyn: Thank you guys. Fred: So what have you been doing while visiting 'N Sync on tour? Jocelyn: They actually threw me a birthday party last week. Wes: We didn't know that it was your birthday. Jocelyn: Well my birthday was a couple of weeks ago. Wes: Well you still should have told us. Now we feel bad because we didn't get you anything. Jocelyn: Oh don't! It doesn't matter to me. Wes: Well we'll make up for it somehow. Fred: Yeah, we'll think of something. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- They spent about 2 hours at lunch with all of them chatting. Limp Bizkit and 'N Sync actually ended up hitting it off really well and found that they had a lot in common. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Later that night, the guys all wanted to go out clubbing, so they all got ready to go out, but once there, they found that they couldn't get Jocelyn in. She said that it was okay and she'd go find something else to do, but Justin wouldn't hear of it. They ended up having a big argument outside of the club over it. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Justin: Look! I am not going in there without you. Jocelyn: Well I think you should. I mean geez, you've been spending all of your time with me since I've been here and I think that you should spend some time with the guys... alone. Justin: Well I want to spend time with you, you're my first priority right now. Jocelyn: Well I shouldn't be. Justin: What do you mean? Jocelyn: I mean, the guys are your friends and the guys are your career... your life even. They should always be first priority to you and even if you aren't going to make them your number one priority, I'm going to make sure that you do. Justin: Well does it hurt to want to spend every waken moment with you? Jocelyn: Actually, yeah. The truth is that I even want to go out by myself sometimes. You know? Justin: Yeah, I guess that I can understand that. Jocelyn: So go inside and hang out with the guys and I'll find something to do in this town. It's New York City for gosh sakes, there has to be something to do. Justin: Okay, but be careful! Please! Jocelyn: I will, I promise. I love you. Justin: I love you too. ::They kiss:: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jocelyn ended up walking around for a couple of hours and since all the big celebrities were in town for the movie awards, she ran into Jennifer Love Hewitt and Carson Daly. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Carson: Hey Jocelyn, what are you doing out here all alone? Jocelyn: Well the guys went clubbin' and since I'm not old enough to get in, I just thought that I would walk around. Carson: Cool. Hey, have you met Jennifer? Jocelyn: No, I haven't had that pleasure yet. Nice to meet you Jennifer, I'm Jocelyn. Jennifer: I know who you are. Your CD is amazing! Congrats on your success. Jocelyn: Oh thanks! That means a lot. You have to understand that I am a huge fan of yours. I'm kind of star struck right now. Jennifer: Really? I can't believe that you are star struck by me. I'm a big dork. ::laughs:: Jocelyn: No you're not. ::smiles:: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jocelyn ended up talking to Carson and Jennifer for about 30 minutes and figured that it was about time to head back to the hotel because it was getting late. The guys weren't in when Jocelyn got back so she decided to use her laptop and get on the internet. She hadn't checked her e-mail in a while and she had like 300 e-mails. She figured that it was about time to sort through them all. There were actually only a few e-mails that she wanted. Right about that time, Jocelyn's cell phone rang. It was Lynn. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lynn: Hey Jocelyn, I didn't wake you up did I? Jocelyn: No, I'm just sitting here reading my e-mail. Lynn: What are the guys up to? Jocelyn: They're out clubbin'. Lynn: Oh, okay. I can't believe that Justin left you alone. Jocelyn: He almost didn't. He protested but I told him that he needed to spend some time with the guys alone. Lynn: Yeah, that was probably a good idea. Anyways, I just got a call from Teen People editors and they wanted to do a cover story on Hollywood's hottest teen couple and according to them, that's you and Justin. What do you say? Jocelyn: I'm up for it but I'll have to talk to Justin about it. ::The guys walk in:: Jocelyn: Oh, hang on, they just walked in. Hey Justin, it's your mom, she just got a call from Teen People and they wanted to do a cover story on "Hollywood's hottest teen couple" and guess who they picked. Justin: Us? Really? Wow! Uh... sure, I'll do it. She has a copy of our schedule, tell her to set it up. Jocelyn: Okay... Lynn, he says that it's cool. Set it up. Lynn: Alright, I'll get back to you tomorrow, alright? Jocelyn: Okay, see ya. Lynn: Bye. ::Hangs up the phone:: Jocelyn: So did you have fun? JC: Yup. Joey's getting out of hand though. ::smiles:: Justin: Man, this dude had about 6 girls hanging all over him. Jocelyn: Really? So what is up with you and Ashley anyways? JC: Yeah dude, I thought that you had a girlfriend. Joey: Well I guess it's not completely serious because she has a boyfriend, but we'll see what happens with that. Jocelyn: Well she needs to decide what she's going to do. Joey: I know. Oh well. Justin: So what did you do tonight? Jocelyn: I just walked around and guess who I ran into. Justin: Who? Jocelyn: Carson Daly and Jennifer Love Hewitt. I was completely star struck. I can't even imagine how I am going to be tomorrow. Justin: Just be calm and be yourself. We all know that will win them over. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The next day was full of preps for the movie awards and Jocelyn was becoming really exciting and nervous about going on stage. She definitely would be hanging on to Fred for dear life. To everyone's suprise, both Ashley and Jennifer showed up to attend the movie awards with them. Also to their suprise, Ashley had finally broken up with her long time boyfriend, Ron, to begin dating Joey. He was definitely excited about that but knew that there had to be a few changes made in his clubbin' life. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- When the guys stepped out of the limo at the awards, they were decked out in Armani suits. They were definitely styling. When Jocelyn stpeed out of the limo, she was wearing yellow vinyl pants, with a white vinyl sports bra looking top, with a yellow vinyl jacket over it. The guys, Jocelyn, Ashley and Jennifer walked down the carpet where they ran into Carson Daly from MTV. He stopped them for a quick interview. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Carson: Well I guess this disproves the whole theory about Justin and Britney dating, huh? Justin: Yeah, Jocelyn and I are dating. Britney and I never were dating. All just a bunch of rumors. Jocelyn: Actually, Britney and I have become really good friends. Carson: So who are you looking forward to seeing here tonight? Jocelyn: I know that I'm personally looking forward to Will Smith's performance. Carson: Big Will Smith fan? Jocelyn: Of course. He's amazing. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Walking down the red carpet, 'N Sync and Jocelyn were amazed by all the fans screaming for them. They even stopped to sign a couple of autographs. When they were in their seats, they were shocked to find out that they were seated next to Will Smith himself, along with a few other big stars. Will wasn't there at first because he was the first performance of the night. The performance ended up being nothing short of amazing. When it was time for Jocelyn to get ready to go on stage, she reluctantly left the guys and her seat and headed backstage where she changed her outfit. She changed into white vinyl pants with a hot pink vinyl tube top. The second she stepped out of the dressing room, she said Fred and Wes. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fred: Damn girl, you look good. Wes: That's for damn sure. Jocelyn: Thanks guys. You have to bear with me though because I'm a little nervous. Okay, maybe a little more than a little. Fred: It's okay. Everything will go fine. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Just then, the announcer came over the speaker. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Announcer: Our next presenters are off of the year's strangest tour. She's the youngest artist to ever have a number one album and number one single at the same time and they're a rock band topping the music charts. Please welcome Jocelyn Langlois and Limp Bizkit. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The roar of the crowd was amazing as they walked out. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jocelyn: We're here to present the award for best actor in a comedy. Fred: These are the actors that keep us laughing through the whole film. Wes: Let's take a look at the nominees. ::They showed the nominees.:: Fred: And the winner is... ::Jocelyn opened the envelope:: Jocelyn: Adam Sandler for Waterboy! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- After the show, Jocelyn headed out with the guys to the aftershow party. She was introduced to various celebrities, including Adam Sandler, Will Smith, Cuba Gooding Jr., Gwenyth Paltrow, Matt Damon, Ben Affleck and more. She was completely star struck but had a great time at the party. They danced the night away. About 4 am, they left the party to fly back to the tour. They slept on the plane because they were completely exhausted. Jennifer and Ashley ended up staying about a week and then had to head home to their jobs. They were also taking summer college courses to get some of it out of the way before heading out on the tour in August. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jocelyn and Justin did the photo shoot for Teen magazine. The pictures were all taken while on tour because they were not able to schedule a date to have an actual photo shoot. When the August 1999 issue of Teen came out, there was a cute picture on the front cover with Jocelyn and Justin. Jocelyn had on a yellow TOMMY spaghetti strap dress and Justin had on TOMMY jeans and a baby blue TOMMY T-Shirt. There were various other pictures inside the magazine taken around everywhere. The article inside read... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ~Hollywood's Hottest Couple~ "I've been in love three times," Jocelyn replied when asked if she's ever been in love. "They've all been Justin though. The first time I fell in love was with the Justin imaged as a teen idol. The second was when I met Justin. We became really good friends and I fell in love with him as a friend. The third time was when we started dating. This time was the love that our relationship is built on today." The love that Jocelyn speaks of is the five month relationship between her and 18-year-ol pop superstar, Justin Timberlake of 'N Sync. We asked them to speak on the age difference (Jocelyn is 15 and Justin is 18) and this is what they had to say. Jocelyn - When Justin first wanted to start dating, the age was actually what I was most worried about. I soon came to realize, however, that if he's not worried about it, then I shouldn't be either. Justin - I really don't think that age is something that should matter. Yes, there is over three years difference in our age, but it is not noticeable when you are around us. Our relationship is built completely on trust. I trust Jocelyn with all my heart and that's the most important aspect of a relationship. Our relationship, especially. The chemistry between these two made them a shoe-in for this year's hottest hollywood couple. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jocelyn's time spent with the guys was quickly coming to an end. August was approaching which meant the start of Jocelyn's own headlining tour. Christina Aguilera would be opening for her for the first two weeks. The second two weeks would be LFO. The opening acts for the rest of the tour had not yet been decided. Three of the days before she left was spent making the video for her next single, "Daydreamin'", which had already became a heavy rotation on all the radio stations. The video was basically a dream of being with a certain guy. The guy was played by Joshua Jackson. She had met him at the MTV Movie Awards and thought that he would be perfect for the part. He was more than willing to play the part in the video. Jocleyn would be taking the video to MTV soon to be world premiered. When time cam for Jocelyn to head home, she was saddened by the thought of not spending every waken moment with Justin and the guys. Over the course of the 2 months that Jocelyn was with them, she had taken about 30 rolls of film and 20 hours of video tape. (She had bought a video camer to record some of the most memorable moments.) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jocelyn: I am soo nervous about the tour. Something is going to go wrong, I just know it. Chris: Girl, nothing is going to go wrong. You have the best crew working with you and even if something does go wrong, you're smart, you'll figure it out. Jocelyn: I hope so. I know that it'll grown on my, but I just can't get into the routine. You know, I really wasn't doing much when I was opening for you, 98 Degrees or even Limp Bizkit. I just kind of went along with it. Now I have responsibilities. Lance: Stop it Jocelyn. You'll do fine. JC: Call us whenever you need something. We're here for you. Jocelyn: I know. Thanks guys. You've been the best friends that a girl could ask for. Joey: Well we try! Jocelyn: I guess I better head to the airport, huh? Justin: Yeah, I guess so. I'm going to miss you soo much! Actually, we're all going to miss you. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- She gave all the guys hugs, Justin a long kiss and headed to the airport. Once home, Jocelyn immediately called Jennifer and Ashley to schedule rehearsal times. They would be rehearsing every day for the next two weeks to prepare for the upcoming tour. When Jocelyn was talking to Jennifer and Ashley on the phone, they suggested getting a couple of male dancers for the tour and Jocelyn thought that this was a good idea. She first called Chris (20), her cousin from Colorado. He was actually between jobs at the time so he immediately agreed. Jocelyn told him that there was one thing that he had to do before coming on tour with her and that was to quit smoking. He told her that it would be hard but it was a small price to pay to get the opportunity that she was offering him. Next, Jocelyn headed to her cousin Joseph's (14) house (about 25 minutes away) to talk to him in person. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jarrod (Joseph's brother): Hey Jocelyn! What are you doing here? Jocelyn: Hey. Well I came to talk to your brother, is he here? Jarrod: Yeah, let me go get him. ::yells:: Joey! Jocelyn's here! Jocelyn: Thanks Jarrod, I could have done that! ::smiles:: Jarrod: Sorry. ::smiles:: Joseph: Hey! What's up? Jocelyn: Well I need to ask you a question. Joseph: Shoot! Jocelyn: Well I'm getting ready to go back on tour and I need another dancer. What do you think about doing it? Joseph: Sure, I mean that is if my parents will let me. Jocelyn: Well are they here so that I can talk to them? It's kind of short notice. Joseph: Yeah, I'll be right back. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Joseph left to go get them and came back a couple minutes later. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Penny: Hey Jocelyn, how's it going? Jocelyn: Good. I have a question to ask you guys. Well I'm going on tour at the end of the month and I'm in need of a dancer. I called Chris already and he's agreed to do it but I still need one more. I was wondering if you guys would be willing to let Joseph do it. John: Well what about school? Jocelyn: My school has been nice enough to let me do it on the road. I send in my work through e-mail. I'm sure that we could arrange the same thing with Joseph's school. If not, then I can hire a tutor. Penny: Well I don't see why not. We trust that you'll watch after him? Jocelyn: Oh of course. I'll keep him in line. Don't worry about that. John: Well then it's fine with us. Jocelyn: Okay, Joseph, I'm going to need you tomorrow for rehearsal. Do you need a ride? Joseph: Yeah, are you going to pick me up? Jocelyn: Yes I will. Rehearsal is at my high school in the gymnasium. They were nice enough to let me use it. I'll pick you up at seven. Joseph: In the morning? Jocelyn: Yes in the morning. No one said that this would be easy! Joseph: Alright. Seven it is. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The next morning, Jocelyn picked Joseph up at seven, as promised. They were at the high school by 7:30. Jennifer and Ashley were already there. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jocelyn: Hey! This is my cousin Joseph. Joseph, these are my cousins Jennifer and Ashley. (Jennifer and Ashley are cousins on her dad's side of the family and Joseph was from her mom's.) Ashley: Hey Joseph, nice to meet you. Joseph: Please... call me Joe! Jennifer: Okay... Joe... Jocelyn: Alright guys, we have a lot of work to do. I want to modify a couple of steps. Let's show Joe the full dance for "Baby..." and then we'll teach it to him... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The next two weeks was full of rehearsing and preparing for the tour. Chris arrived ready and willing to learn dances and new concepts. Both him and Joseph were quick learners and amazing dancers. Jocelyn used her saved money to purchase two tour buses. (She had given the previous bus back to 'N Sync after their tour.) ONe bus had three very small bedrooms in the back, a lounge area and a kitchen area. The other bus only had 2 bedrooms along with 2 large bunks. Jocelyn, Jennifer and Ashley would be on one bus and Chris, Joseph and the two bodyguards would be on the other bus. Jocelyn spent one day decorating the tour bus and making it home-like. She then took her card from the modeling agency and bought Joseph and Chris a bunch of clothes to thank them for doing this for her. She deeply appreciated it. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ::ring ring:: Jocelyn: Hello? Lynn: Hey Jocelyn, it's me, Lynn. Jocelyn: Oh hey Lynn, how's it going? Lynn: It's going good. I have some news for you. Jocelyn: Oh really? What's up? Lynn: I just got a call that every single concert on your tour is sold out. Jocelyn: Are you serious? Oh my gosh. That's soo cool. Lynn: According to Rolling Stone magazine, you have the falls hottest tour. Jocelyn: Wow! That's great. Thanks for letting me know Lynn. Lynn: You're welcome. Well I'll let you go. I know that you're awfully busy! Jocelyn: Yes I am. Thanks again. Bye. Lynn: Bye. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Right as Jocelyn hung up the phone, it rang again. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Justin: Hey baby, it's me. Jocelyn: Hey Justin. What's going on? Justin: Well the guys and I have been talking and I think that we're going to be changing record labels soon. Jocelyn: Are you for real? Justin: Yeah. RCA and the guys at Trans Con are being real jerks about our income and financial matters. They're wanting to take more than they deserve. We're just fed up with it all. Jocelyn: I understand. So what label are you looking into? Justin: We're thinking about switching over to Jive. We haven't completely decided yet though. Jocelyn: Oh Justin, no offense or anything, but I think it's stupid to go to Jive. Justin: Why? Jocelyn: Just think about it. Jive already has BSB and Britney. They're not going to give you guys the individual time and attention that you need. Ya'll deserve better than what they can offer. Justin: I see where you're coming from but it's not completely up to me. Johnny thinks that it's a good move. I'll run this past him though. Thanks.
