Mu Ko Chumphon's marine national park should have the ability to preserve the pristine environment that is still generally untouched and preserved but in danger of future damage. By developing community interest we will create an environmental forum that will allow the park to educate the community on the importance of preserving their marine environment. It is our hope that this will bring the Chumphon community and the park together, creating incentives for both parties to develop conservation practices that, when implemented, will help preserve the area's marine ecology and natural resources. We believe that it is imperative for locals to develop an understanding of the importance of conservation and the benefits to all when preserving their local natural resources.
When the community and marine park share the same goals and interests in marine environmental protection the following will occur:
- locals will begin to make an effort to help in the preservation of their natural resources
- children will understand the impacts of their future actions
- mooring buoys will prevent the destruction of marine ecology
- the community will have an educational facility to use as well as resourceful literature to read
Additionally the spark of community/park interaction will create a relationship taht will persist through the following years creating a new sense of community among all parties involved.
