The band was formed on the month of Jan. 2005 with josh on vox,eli on guitars,eman on drums and mico on bass.after a few weeks eli and eman reunited with former bandmate andreau who instantly became the lead guitarist.They called themselves The Killer Champola(Champola is a famous brand name of a wafer stick that kids in the philippines loved to eat).Then We Changed the name to Mariposa's Demise but we thought it was a long word for a band name so Dru came up with Datu... Datu -Datu is the title for ancient tribal chieftains in the pre-hispanic Philippines. Together with Sultan and Raja they are also titles of royalty and currently used in Malaysia, Brunei and Indonesia and are the equivalent of Dukes, Marquis, etc.. Datu was derived from Malay words dato' or datok, which are the royal titles of the Malays.*** But then Our Music didn't blend with our band name so we dicided to be MAriposa's Demise Again. Now we're ready to kick ass on stage with our unique blend of genres!!! |
