mark feldman's summer trip - stop #3a
washington, dc - may 24
i actually stayed in baltimore for three nights, using it as my base for our nation's capital.  if two days wasn't enough for philly, one day hardly did dc justice - but one day was all i had, so i decided i would at least walk from one end of the national mall to the other, and pick a few things to see that i hadn't seen before, namely the library of congress, the supreme court, and the capitol (which i had seen but not since i was 8).
i also checked out the new world war 2 memorial, which was very nicely done, and the wading pool was salvation on a 90 degree muggy day such as this one (i guess dubya isn't completely useless). I tried to convey with this picture how incredibly hot it was.  Man, it was hot.  Very very hot.
let's go to baltimore!
