Terror Of The Autons Operating under the pseudonym 'Colonel Masters' (he does this sort of thing a lot) the Master arrives on Earth, in England, to try to instigate another invasion attempt by the Nestene Consciousness (from inaugral Pertwee story Spearhead From Space). His plan is to help them take over the world, in the hope that having done this they will let him rule it. The Doctor points out that this is a tad unlikely, so the Master helps the Doctor repel the invaders. A little embarassing, but he does manage to escape UNIT at the end. |
The Mind Of Evil The Master returns in the very next story, with a plan even more Evil than the last. This time, he wants to destroy the World in a nuclear war, because... well, just because. To achieve this he puts into effect a fairly complex plan. He puts an alien mind-parasite that feeds on fear into a machine that is used to rehabilitate convicts. When a riot breaks out , the Master walks in and takes the prison over. He then gets the inmates to ambush a rocket full of poison gas being escorted by UNIT. As a backup he's simultaneously killing the delegates of a world peace conference being held in London. Unfortunately he's spotted by Captain Yates of UNIT, so they find him and destroy the rocket. And the machine along with it. He escapes again, but vows to some day Destroy The Earth. |
The Claws Of Axos Not a good day for the Master. He is captured by the planet-sucking entity Axos, but manages to cut a deal with them. In exchange for his life, his TARDIS, the death of the Doctor and the destruction of all life on Earth, the Master will show Axos where the Earth is. What a negotiator. Once on Earth Axos lets him go, to do their bidding. He tries to escape in the Doctor's TARDIS, but is spotted by Captain Yates of UNIT. They make him help them defeat Axos. He finally escapes in his own TARDIS while the Doctor heroically struggles to put Axos in a time-loop. |
The Colony In Space Instead of attempting another Evil Plan in England, right under the noses of the Doctor and UNIT, the Master travels to the planet Uxarieus in the year 2472. He's stolen some Time Lord files on a Doomsday Machine and goes to find it. The Time Lords are onto him, though, and send the Doctor too. His plan is to get the Doomsday Machine, and hold the entire galaxy to ransom. Unfortunately the machine's guardian won't give him it. |
The Daemons (I don't think my keyboard can do that thing where the 'a' and 'e' join up) Back on Earth the Master takes over a parish in the English countryside, masquerading as Reverend Magister (latin for 'Master'). The Evil Plan this time is to summon Azal, last of the Daemons, and get him to hand over his Power to the Master. Azal agrees, but before he can comply manages to blow himself up in a moment of confusion. To add insult to injury the Master is then arrested by UNIT. |
The Sea Devils While in prison in a converted castle on an island off the coast of Britain the Master makes contact with the Sea Devils, an intelligent reptilian race who evolved millenia before humans, but have been hibernating. his plan is to help them once more rule the world, but the Royal Navy nuke them first. He does manage to escape though. |
The Time Monster Under the alias of Professor Thascales the Master builds the suggestively-named TOMTIT machine, to summon Kronos the Chronovore. He traps Kronos in a crystal, but it escapes when his TARDIS crashes into the Doctor's. Kronos wants to torture the Master for all eternity, but he embarrasingly grovels on his hands and knees until the Doctor takes pity on him and gets him off the hook. |
Frontier In Space The Master tries to start a war between the rival empires of Earth and Draconia on behalf of the Daleks. He builds a fear-inducing device that makes the humans see his Ogron minions as Draconians, and Draconians see them as humans. Interplanetary war is averted when the Doctor just points out to everyone what he's up to. He almost redeems his evil pride at the end by shooting the Doctor, but only accidentally, and not fatally. |
