			Stargate SG13 is based on the premise that Australia has the second stargate from the series. The US Stargate base leased the second stargate to a small Australian research company.  This company with the assistance of the Australian and American military, built and staffed a secret base in a disused Snowy Mountain Scheme power station.   The purpose of this base is to explore and investigate possible commercial aspects of gate travel.  As such it is a civilian operation assisted by the military. The Australian Star Gate Command (SGC-Au) has been following up research on planets discovered by the American base.  Due to the success of early missions the Base has now established first contact teams for initial exploration and evaluation of planets.  The primary first contact team is SG13 (the player characters). As an exploration team SG13 has a wide variety of skills within the group.  Archeologists, linguists, military experts, geologists, and physicists to name a few.  Civilians and military work side by side to establish meaningfull relations with alien cultures. But somehow, its never quite that easy...
