Waiting for You Sitting on the front porch waiting for you wondering what you would say, what would we do? Doubts, fears, crowding my mind. Are we two middle-aged fools chasing an impossible dream? What folly could have made us think that a relationship, started in Cyberland, could ever blossom in the cruel light of reality? I catch my breath as you pull into my drive, looking calm, relaxed, and more attractive than your photograph conveyed. Your smile melts all my doubts and fears, your arms around me, now . . . the hug I’d imagined, no longer a fantasy. You take my hand and we walk back to sit on the porch and talk, taking that first step into the future. Finally . . . after a life-time of waiting, it feels like you have come home. |
First Date In giddy anticipation we set off that first evening searching to find common ground exploring possibilities questioning . . . pondering but powerless to abandon this compelling attraction and now, discarding inadequate words, we embrace this wondrous gift; succumb to the beauty of secluded, peaceful nights share these unforgettable moments . . . campfire burning low moon caressing the lake playful breezes tickling treetops, we stargaze sip coffee listen to our hearts and smile at the wonder of it all, astounded by the serenity of this inexplicable bond |
Moonlight Rendezvous With stealthy velvet steps you prowl the moonlit path, casting aside any vestige of slyness or cunning behavior; you cavort in the clearing, your tawny coats aflame, and I wonder if you are playmates . . . soulmates or just tired parents out for a middle-of-the-night stroll. Sensing my presence, but fully aware of your supremacy in this hushed tableau, you stay, content to bask in the moon's splendor suspending me inside this surreal and perfect moment forever imprinted in memory |

Country Roads Rambling roads wind enticingly through forests thick with mystery. We follow their twists and turns, never knowing what we will discover. Wildflowers nod and wave in their glory; lakes emerge, glistening like polished jewels; cool, shady hilltops beckon, promising enchanted picnic places and unrivalled vistas to those willing to take a chance and wander far from the beaten path. |
