Body Beautiful by Marlene McCarty |
I rub my eyes; I stand and stare, is that a genie standing there? "Good morning, Ma'am, 'tis true, 'tis true, I'm your personal genie, an' I'm looking for you. You've got one chance," he says with glee, "so take it or leave it 'tis all the same to me. I'll take your old body and repair it today, and when I'm all done 'O` la la' they'll say. So tell me quickly how you'd like to look, 'cause I'm writing it down in my beautiful book. Now I don't have all day, there's others in line; restoring old bodies keeps me busy full time." "Ok, Ok, I'm ready to go; there's changes I need from head to toe. I really need something done with my hair, 'cause I'm sick and tired of buying 'Loving Care'. I'm begging you please to get rid of the grey, for I've spent half a lifetime just dying away. My eyebrows could use some permanent colour; make 'em thicker and darker and ever so fuller. Darken my lashes, make 'em curl like a dream; that messy mascara really makes me scream. And my eyelids could use a nip and a tuck, for they're puffy and droopy and make me go YUK! Please make my eyes unforgettable, too, that rare shade of violet like Liz Taylor's will do. And I'd really be tickled and over the moon, if once and for all I could see 'cross the room. Get rid of my nose and give me another, for the one that I have makes me look like my mother. I'd like a great smile with dimples galore; these wrinkles and laugh lines, don't want 'em no more. I want a chin that is rounded, but still firm and strong, and above all a 'real neck' to rival a swan. My boobs need uplifting, they're hitting my waist; an inch or so smaller and my bra wouldn't chafe. Straighten my shoulders and flatten my belly so sweaters don't sag and skirts don't look silly. And oh, dearest genie, I really need hips; make them curvy and shapely so my jeans finally fit. And whatever you do, please give me an ass, one that's sexy and firm and smoother than glass. As for my legs, stretch them out longer; make my calves and my arches and my ankles all stronger. Straighten my toes and make them look pretty, so I can wear snazzy sandals that really look spiffy. And when my body's all finished according to plan, then top it all off with a glorious tan. Now Genie I know that I'm asking a lot, but for goodness sake give it all that you've got. 'Cause whoever it was that sent you to me, knows my body needs help so desperately. Hey, Genie, come back! Don't leave me like this, my dreams all in tatters, my body a mess. Damn! What's that noise so loud in my ear? That bloody alarm! You know . . . life just ain't fair. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
