| I'll be posting 7-string guitar speficic lessions to this page, in addition to the more general lessons on my other lesson page. I consider myself primarily a 7-string gutiarist now: perhaps not a great one, but my focus is definately towards that instrument. However, since we're the minority out there, I wanted to keep most of the lessons on this page general enough so that anyone, 6 or 7, could benifit from them. However, there's very little good material dedicated strictly to the 7 out there, and besides, sometimes i just couldn't resist. ;) So far there's not much here, but after I graduate i hope to arrange more classical peices for the 7, and i'm gradually getting a feel for extended jazz chording on the 7. | Prelude in C major -This is either by W.F Bach (J.S's son) or Giuseppe Buonamici- the score i have is unclear. it's from a collection of Bach's Preludes and Fugues assembled and edited by Buonamici, intended as a preparatory work for J.S. Bach's "The Well-Tempered Clavichord." However, several of the fugues by J.S. Bach didn't have preludes, so Buonamici supplied them. Additionally, he included several fugues by Bach's son, W. F. Bach, and didn't specify where the accompanying preludes came from. this is one of them. Whatever the case, it's a good peice to learn on 7-string- it takes advantage of the extended range of the instrument. Score (in standard notation) |
| 7-String Scales -A brief guide on applying 6-string scale patterns to a 7-string guitar, as well as a few new patterns that fall quite comfortably on the neck of a 7-string. Plus, a modally-ascending series of three-note-per-string scales for 7-string guitar. |
| 7-String Arpeggios -I haven't updated this in a while, so i thought i'd post some of the arpeggio shapes I've been working with lately. Anyone who thinks a 6-string can do anything a 7 can, read this. |
